Repent, Remember, Rejoice

Neither the church of my childhood nor current affiliation formally observe Lent.
That doesn't preclude me from appreciating the symbolism OR reality of its message, however.
"Repent, and believe in the Gospel"
and
"Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return".
Beginning today, Ash Wednesday, I embrace the message.
I rejoice in the reminders of this season.
I'm thankful for Jesus Christ,
the cross,
and the empty tomb.

  1. We don't observe Lent either, but there is nothing wrong with being mindful of the season that is coming! What a wonderful thing that empty tomb is!
