Back Yard Beauty

Beauty - natural AND handmade - is everywhere...
often in our own "back yard"!
The balloons were the first indicator that SOMETHING was happening.
Sadly, the rest of the pictures of the Riverfest events and scenes didn't come out for me.
(My favorite parts were meandering among the artists' tents
and a pontoon ride down - or maybe it was up - the St. Joseph River.)
This outing was Part 2 of our 41st Anniversary Celebration.
Afterwards,
walking back to our car across the Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne Campus,
I was intrigued by the variety of  beautiful trees.
This campus, just a few miles from our home,
is such an inviting place for a leisurely stroll.
Art and sculpture catch my eye
whether I understand it or not.
In this case, a written explanation was engraved
on a marker (not seen in the picture).
THEN I understood!
It reminds me of the natural beauty that piques my interest;
catches my eye...
His Written Explanation lies bound and near me as I write.
HIS beauty surrounds me.
His Word brings understanding.
"...what may be known about God is plain to them,
because God has made it plain to them.
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--
his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen,
being understood from what has been made..."
Romans 1:19-20

Love your analogy of the beauty understood through the written word (Word).

Ahhhh... and thank God for His Holy word!!!
I love how those verses in Romans remind us to just look around and see thee amazing WONDER of everything He made! I've had to go back up and reread those verses three times now while writing this... -- they're soo cool! Since the creation of the world!!!--- God's invisible qualities have been clearly seen... -- gives me goosebumps! xoxo

    1. I agree, Lea - about the WONDER of it all AND that beyond the WONDER are God's invisible qualities made VISIBLE!

  5. Yes, you cannot compare anything man has made with what the Divine Creator has Created! Natural Beauty surpasses even our wildest dreams and human imagination. Thanks for your input on reading between the lines... I do believe you are spot on... the Holy Spirit has been prompting me lately to step up to the next level in some instances that are definitely intimidating given my current circumstances... it is totally going to be a Trust issue to know in Faith that He ALWAYS has my back and best interest at Heart and so I have begun to move in the direction of the promptings and see what He has in store for me as I act in obedience! It is scary and yet rather exciting really... and it is helping ease some of the fear and depression I've been burdened with as I've lost strength and stamina to hold everything down here on the homefront while Loved ones have been dealing with serious health issues.

Bless you for your Encouragement and Prayers... it means so much. Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

  6. Scripture is often like this art piece--beautiful, mysterious, catching my attention! The curious of heart will look closer for the explanation! Even then, I don't always understand but I'm always willing to try.
