At the risk of leading you to believe that all I do is "play",
I'm sharing the sights on the streets of a nearby town, Auburn, IN.
Remember. My husband and I are spreading our 41st wedding celebration
over the entire summer!
This is Part 3.
Or Part 4 if you count the meal we enjoyed at The Factory on the actual day...
Hmmmmm. I guess I SHOULD count that.
The town has a lot of new shops downtown.
New to US, anyway!
Coffee shops, specialty bakeries, antique stores, unique gift and craft shoppes,
even a bicycle repair shop!
Many restaurants surround the square, but our favorite is Sandra D's - NOT on the square.
Every year, the town has an Art Exhibit that draws people from ALL over
the area to see the work of local artists
and periodically a nationally-known sculptor.
All over the square -- well-maintained flowers in large pots.
(This one is built into a building -- very European-like, it seemed to me.)
The chairs will be auctioned off in September but will be in place
for viewing throughout the summer.
You REALLY ought to see it if you can!
And always remember, that it is
God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

I love the chairs Rebecca. I wanted to paint some flowers on my Mother's chair (Which is still waiting for me!) so this gave me some great ideas. My cousins in-laws live or used to live in Auburn. Love Di ♥
ReplyDeleteGood, Di. I'm glad you got some ideas. And why don't you check out about your cousins in-laws and come & see them (and me)?!?
DeleteRebecca, thanks so much for your kind comment on my post about the Sermon on the Mount. Your prayers are appreciated as I ask God to help me live His ways.
ReplyDeleteI like the Parrot chair........and wow.........what a SUMMER you two are going to have! Keep taking pictures for us!
ReplyDeleteI think it might be my favorite, too, Michelle. It was painted by a talented woman with whom I am acquainted - Pat Delagrange - and sits in front of her shop, which is a GEM!
DeleteWow, how creative and lovely is that! It sounds as though you are having a wonderful summer...you very much deserve it!
ReplyDeleteWow, these chairs are gorgeous....I bet they look so nice grouped about town...
ReplyDeleteThese are just delightful! My favorites are the tree and bird ones. I know my husband could paint a couple of these for me. I love the idea of scattering the anniversary celebration over the summer.
ReplyDeleteSo he's an artist, too? Maybe he could paint "music" on one of them....That could be so clever - a favorite hymn with an appropriate picture added?????
DeleteHi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteI love adirondack chairs, and these were really something special, am glad you are playing and then sharing it with us. We all need to play sometimes!
and after all, you are celebrating!! lol
We believe in dragging those celebrations out too. A very good thing as Martha would say..........
blessings sweet friend, Nellie
Happy Anniversary!!! I too enjoy extending Celebrations... Today happens to be The Son's 26th Birthday and we'll probably Celebrate into July... *winks*
ReplyDeleteThose Awesome painted Ardirondack Chairs are each a work of Art! I'd have trouble picking a Favorite out of that selection though and be like a Deer caught in the headlights about which to buy?!? And so... you know what the Solution would be for the Queen of Excess... *LOL* Thanks for stopping by for a visit...
Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
Watermelon chair is my favorite, although I'd take a whole porch full of them!

My favorite chair is the one with the "petals" on the back. What a neat idea. Several years ago, there were bears all over Knoxville that were painted in different themes. I think I like the chairs better!!! Happy Anniversary....all summer!!! ;-)
