november dawned
early for me.
i woke long before light
knowing...just knowing.
thanks is for living.
thanks is for giving.
there really isn't a lot more
about november...
well, my father's birthday...
but before that, thanksGIVING.
thanks LIVING.
(Just a couple of my turkeys I'm getting
out for the season...)
1. a fresh, new day on which to write my thanks...and life and breath to write it with...
Riches and glory come from you,
you're ruler over all;
You hold strength and power in the palm of your hand
to build up and strengthen all.
And here we are, O God, our God, giving thanks to you,
praising your splendid Name.
you're ruler over all;
You hold strength and power in the palm of your hand
to build up and strengthen all.
And here we are, O God, our God, giving thanks to you,
praising your splendid Name.
I Chronicles 29:12,13 The Message
I love having a month to especially focus on being thankful. It's something I try to do year round, but this season is especially helpful for that!

Beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteNovember is beautiful, isn't it? The Lord's been teaching me to live out the thanks all year round. November is a great time to refocus, remember that commitment.
ReplyDeleteI've been gone so long that things have changed here! Your background is just beautiful Rebecca. And I love the turkeys!! Love Di ♥
ReplyDeleteLove LOVE that first turkey!!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he's ready to be off and running!
Smiles,
Jackie
Thank you so much for your lovely and positive comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post even if I did stop for a second and thought "do you really collect turkeys"? How fab! Hope your week is good, Love from London xo
Love your turkeys. I am leaving mine in the tub this year since we re traveling during that time. I am breaking out Christmas early since the girls are having a Christmas show at my house on the 19th. I want tohabve3 the outside decorated and it feels like the inside should match. I am getting excited.
ReplyDeleteI relish all things thanksgiving! From the Fall colors to decorations, to the comfort foods that accompany the season (like chili, split pea soup, croissants, apple crisp), it is my very favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet. I love the Message Bible and the way it makes so many passages just come alive with new meaning.
ReplyDeleteI love November because of Thanksgiving, time with family members I don't often see, my birthday, more baking, especially desserts, and though they are nearly gone now, the beautiful colors of the leaves.
I do not own ONE turkey. Is the second turkey for tooth-picks?
ReplyDeleteI also love November.....we usually have a church camp-out, we have a birthday and I LOVE pumpkin desserts. We visit a church about an hour from our house for special *Tuesday before Thanksgiving* services. My husband's spiritual birthday is in November and our *meeting up* anniversary is on the same day. It is usually the month our leaves FALL and the skies are blue-er!
Mrs. Mo.... Sounds like you have a lot to celebrate in November!
ReplyDeleteNo, the second turkey is too large for toothpicks. The green one is huge. I could use the clear glass one for toothpicks. Hmmmm. Right now it has a tiny candle in it.
