October

5:30 a.m. 10-1-11  Ready to Roll!

"O suns and skies and clouds of June,
And flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour
October's bright blue weather.

October 1st is the day we celebrate the anniversary of our engagement.  This date is easier for me to remember than the date of our wedding.  My husband was playing college football.  He'd invited me out to eat at a fine restaurant after an early practice.  "A Thursday practice," he told me yesterday.  He proposed after dinner.  Then we went to share our happiness with my grandparents who lived nearby.

We celebrated yesterday because we have all-day plans today.  I had a perfect salmon salad at a favorite restaurant.

I'm looking forward to this morning's drive to our meeting.  We should be able to watch the sun rise as we travel and see leaves turning on the way home.  I'm hoping for a peek at blue skies, too.  (May have to wait until tomorrow for that...)

Welcome, October!  You've come SO quickly.

  1. Congratulations. Oh, if people could only learn from relationships like the one that you and your husband share. A Christian home and two people in love forever. How beautiful.
