Life Stride

While taking photos for my second-hand turquoise post, the words on this shoe box captured my attention!

Intrigued, I turned to the dictionary to find that  "stride" means:
1. To walk with long steps, especially in a ...vigorous way.
2. To take a single long step, as in passing over an obstruction.

I haven't always been a "strider"!  And the older I get, the more challenging it is to PHYSICALLY "stride"!
But life calls for it still--at several levels.  Whether dealing with difficulties, long hours, or obstructions of any type, I want to be a "strider".  Thankfully, I don't stride alone!
Life Stride.  It's not just a brand name!
It's a way of life.
  • Those who hope in the Lord...will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint  (Isaiah 40:31).
  • If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand (Psalm 37:23-24).
  • When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble Proverbs 4:12).

    1. Your words are God-inspired . . . and they are inspiring to me! I needed these truths today . . . I'm walking some wearisome paths right now, but I'm so thankful that He upholds me and keeps me "striding."

    2. Glenda, so many times the simplest words speak to me. Inspired words, yes--but also an inspired nudging to visit a particular blog on a particular day. We are held securely by Him; loved and guided continually.

    6. First of all I forgot to mention the last time how much I liked your header photo! It is very pretty and unique, just like you!
Now I have to say that the verse from Isaiah (40:31) I felt was meant for me. Walking has become a huge struggle this past year or so and I just can't give up. Things need to be done. So I take the message to heart!

    7. Di, They say struggles make us strong. I pray that you will take all that strength (and the extra that comes direct from God the Father) and do the "things that need to be done".

I'm praying that for you and ME this morning as I type...

    8. carol H: "to be pre-occupied, means to occupy our time and place long before we are there." Lord help me to trust you for my future times and )places and enjoy the present ones. (quote from Henri Nouwen, Making all things New. I think this goes along with "life Stride."
