First Snow

Our first "real" snow of this season is SO beautiful.  This bush in the front of our house wears it softly.
It evokes this response from me....in the words of an old hymn:
  1. Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole;
    I want Thee forever to live in my soul;
    Break down every idol, cast out every foe—
    Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow

    • Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow,
      Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

  2. Lord Jesus, let nothing unholy remain,
    Apply Thine own blood and extract every stain;
    To get this blest cleansing, I all things forego—
    Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
  3. Lord Jesus, look down from Thy throne in the skies,
    And help me to make a complete sacrifice;
    I give up myself, and whatever I know—
    Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
  4. Lord Jesus, for this I most humbly entreat,
    I wait, blessed Lord, at Thy crucified feet,
    By faith for my cleansing, I see thy blood flow—
    Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
  5. Lord Jesus, Thou seest I patiently wait;
    Come now and within me a new heart create;
    To those who have sought Thee Thou never said’st “No”—
    Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
  6. The blessing by faith, I receive from above;
    Oh, glory! my soul is made perfect in love;
    My prayer has prevailed, and this moment I know,
    The blood is applied, I am whiter than snow.

I Shall Be Whiter than Snow by James L. Nicholson, 1872

    1. Beautiful photo!
      Beautiful song!

      I love how Mother Nature will call to mind our spiritual nature!

      I should be doing my Christmas preparations, but I took a little break to post and visit (I finished a post last night, but I was so tired I forgot to publish it!), I'll have a nice cup of white hot chocolate and then get back to cleaning and baking!
      I'm glad I stopped here though, it's always so uplifting.

      We're supposed to get a big snow storm too (they are predicting a Nor'easter)! Ray and I ran out early to get new snow boots for Jayden and a snow suit as he's outgrown last year's, and we got out early to do our food shopping because the flurries were supposed to start by 10:00 AM, but so far nothing! It is very cold and windy though, and I am so thankful to have the Blessing of this nice warm house.
      And I pray God's Protection around the so many homeless out on the streets.

      Love to you,
      Eileen

    6. Oh, Jackie, I'm tearful just imagining this little girl singing this song. I pray that the joy of the Lord will just fill your auditorium and that love will flow freely throughout the entire audience & into the homes/families who will be touched.
