McClish Lake, a Summer Tradition with Friends

I arrived in time to enjoy several rounds of McClish Lake on the pontoon captained by Sandy and her pooch.
Four of us enjoyed each other's company along with the cool weather and pleasant views from the comfortable cottage owned by one of our friend's mother. Walks, laughter, a Cary Grant/Kathryn Hepburn movie, some games and great conversation filled our hours along with some good food. The sugar cream pie turned out to be delicious - for those of you who wondered.

Each morning, I was the earliest riser. I enjoyed my cup of coffee looking out on the lake from a chaise lounge. With journal and Bible open, I read and recorded my joy, my praise and my delight in God's creation. You can see how smooth the water was compared to later in the day when Betty and Becky braved the ripples with the kayak!

The final evening, Betty and I were left. After saying good-byes to the other two, we took a 45 minute walk that found us stopping frequently to gaze at the progressively beautiful sunset!

Thank you for sharing your days...If I would have been there, I would have done the same thing, sit by the lake with my bible and my journal and just allow God's beauty to pour over me ;D

  6. Dear Rebecca,

What a blessing to have been able to go and enjoy the company of friends, being surrounded by all that beauty. I could just take in a deep breath and smell the fragrant morning air as you were sitting with your Bible and journal early in the day. That is a most precious time, so peaceful and quiet.

    Beautiful sunset...

  7. I have begun reading your right sidebar quotes, sayings, etc. I truly enjoy them. I got as far as "Thy Word is Like a Garden, Lord" by Edwin Hodder.

And then I came upon the picture of your Uncle Russ and Aunt Jane. I love it. How precious they are.

I will continue to read your sidebars each time I visit. They're great.

Our Lord's grace and peace unto you, my sister in Christ.
