Sugar Cream Pie
There are many recipes on internet. This is the one I used and it turned out wonderfully. This recipe is for one (1) pie...
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. all-purpose flour, unsifted
1/2 pint (1 cup) whipping cream
3/4 c. milk (I used 1%)
2 Tbs. butter, cut into small pieces
Pinch nutmeg.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Combine sugar, flour, cream, and milk in a mixing bowl. Pour into pie shell (I used a store-bought crust-the kind that is rolled up in refrigerated section). Dot butter bits all around top of pie. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for approximately 35 more minutes. Cool to room temperature and then refrigerate until chilled. Serve chilled. The pies will be just a bit runny. Don't worry. If using glass baking dish, lower oven temp. by 25 degrees.

  1. Oh Rebecca,

I am enjoying these pies through your blog ;)

Thank you dear friend for your wonderful comment on today's post. Yes, you are absolutely right, I am a lot calmer and my health is getting better.

It is all with balance and no worries :D

Thank you for your friendship dear, it means so much to me!

    blessings and welcome back,

    lady m

  2. These look wonderful and I'm copying and pasting the recipe now, I don't think I'll get a chance to make it this weekend but I'm definitely going to do it sometime this week. Sounds wonderful!
    All the best,

  3. What a sweetheart you are...thx for sharing the recipe. It sounds yummy and of course, you did take the calories out, didn't you?

    blessings and hugs,

  4. Thank you much for the receipe Rebecca. I think in spite of the fact that I hate cooking and baking, I will make this when my husband gets home next weekend. It will be a nice surprise for him!

  5. Yes, Marcy, as you can see, the calories have been carefully disguised as sugar, whipping cream, and butter. Diana, if your husband likes sweets, this should be a winner. (And it's good to know there is someone else who is not so enthusiastic about cooking and baking out there!) This IS a very simple recipe - and it got rave reviews with my friends.
Eileen, I hope you like it. I think that's why I'm always hesitant to tout my favorites - because everybody is different and has different "tastes"....

  6. Sugar and cream plus flour equals pie...not even vanilla, just a pinch of nutmeg...does it taste a little like a Buttermilk Pie or a Custard Pie?

  7. Wanda, I'm not sure I know what a Buttermilk Pie tastes like. But definitely not custard...just good and sweet.

  8. Yummy, yummy! I make these at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love making pies...Now I'm going to have to make one!! Thanks for all the kind words and prayers...It's so nice to know that you are thinking of me!!
    Love, Jerelene
