As Busy as I Care to Be

I have time to work on jigsaw puzzles...
"You must be very busy," they say.
A statement with an implied question.
Curiosity-laden.
And I struggle to respond.
Fact is, I'm as busy as I care to be.
It's all relative, I believe.

...and I have time to read.
***
And you?
Are YOU "busy"?

  1. I love that motto "I am as busy as I care to be" and I think I will adopt it. Yes, I have plenty of time for reading and going on walks with Bounce, etc. now that I am retired.

    1. I don't have Bounce to walk with, but I like to walk with a bounce now and then (when the heat and humidity isn't too high).

  2. I'm busy with things I like to do, and some things not so much. I can't imagine being a couch potato or a lounge lizard.

    1. Yes! Me, too. Things I LIKE to do, CHOOSE to do, with a few thrown in that just have to be DONE. (Although by some standards I may be a "lounge lizard"...especially when it comes to reading)

  3. Sometimes people think I am busy because i can't "go out " with them - or put it off for a week or so. Sometimes it's just that I do not do well with back to back going out. Often i need to come in and stay in - sometimes for days. I think it's a gift of growing older. Sometimes I get "too busy" for even me and then I retreat. I suspect you would understand this! I like your answer to "you must be busy."

    1. "...a gift of growing older." I like that!
Actually, I didn't reveal my actual answer. Most of the time I just say, "Oh, not as busy as some" or "No busier than most".

  4. I like that 'busy as I care to be!' That's so true. Now that said, I am busy doing last minute things and preparing to be away for a week, starting Tuesday.

    1. You, my friend, ARE busy!
In your shoes, I'd be depending on a list (and even THEN hoping I'd not forgotten anything)!
