My Ikea-less reality

Though I'm quite certain we're poles apart when it comes to life experiences, talent, theology, and appearance, I have a strong sense that our hearts share space! These recent tweets of hers (Anne Lamott) are examples of why I read her books and admire her from a distance:

I think God loves what is real, esp in us. Not the stuff we've tricked out w/ cute rugs from Ikea. What's really in our hearts & minds. Wow\

We have a short, silent time of confession Sunday. I always say something like, “Look-I think we both know what we have on our hands here.”

I'm counting on the first - though I find it frightening and reassuring at the same time - and find her Sunday confession spot on.

Our Lord knows....He sees the real in all of us. I am quite thankful for that. Feel better Sweet Lady. Let your bones heal at the rate they have to. Don't rush this time.

That second one made me grin. I picture myself in a line of people and as God makes His way to me He just kind of shakes His head and pats my shoulder and maybe lets out a long sigh! :)

That second quote from Ann Lamott is a beauty, funny yet profound. I read her books too.

THE BLOGGER'S PRAYER Lord, help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me, dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.
