It's a tiny book. An old book.
It sits with two similarly-sized books in a convenient place for quick reading.
I reached for it and read the prayer for September Eleventh.
It was EXACTLY what I needed to pray in that moment.
Only later did I realize that I was reading it on the tenth.
Sometimes it happens that way.

I made a pot of creamed soup out of some leftover vegetables.
It was a soup-sort of day and it was DELICIOUS!

I have this little book too. It was my husband's grandmother's. And, it also sits with two other little devotionals by Charles Spurgeon and Oswald Chambers, like you say, handy for a quick read.
ReplyDeleteI throughly enjoy old devotional and prayer books, though they are a quick read they seem to be more in depth, not presenting quick fixes!

i apologize for not visiting this summer it has been especially busy with many changes for us, for now things seem to be slowing down, and that is a good thing.

DeleteI love when I read a devotional on the wrong day, not knowing in the beginning I am, but the word was for me that day. I just feel that is God...His Word in due season, so no matter the date on the page, He knows when I need it.
