"A sign you're growing in grace:
People don't experience you being as
busy, hurried or restless.
You're learning the pace of grace."

I'm learning. Gradually.
Through the hours spent with my mother
in the Special Care (Dementia) Unit,
God is teaching me about the pace of grace.
It's often slow...frequently silent...surprisingly flexible,
adapting to the need of the moment.
It's steps are short ones. Measured and halting.
The pace of grace is agonizing sometimes.

The pace of grace is agonizing sometimes.
One of these days, I hope that "people don't experience me
as being busy, hurried or restless."

I am challenged by the series of "signs you're growing in grace" that Scotty Ward Smith
frequently tweets. Here's another one:
"A sign you're growing in grace:
Your gospel is bigger, your gripes fewer, your generosity freer,
and your laugh louder."
I love this photo of you and your mama.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo.Time is precious
ReplyDeletedonna.
You're beautiful, Ms. Rebecca....inside and out!! "GRACE" is such a beautiful word....so thankful that God shows it to me....wish I could show it to others with the same abundance! Praying our daughter shows it to me when my time comes!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie! I pray the same thing - well aware that "MY time" will no doubt come, too!
DeleteThanks for the reminder today...I wish I could be as GRACious and Grace-filled as you.
ReplyDeleteOh Claudia! I have SUCH a long way to go......
DeleteWhat a wonderful photo of you and your Mom.
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs to you dear Rebecca ~ FlowerLady
Grace, indeed. Everyday grace. Every.Day.Grace.
ReplyDeleteAn unhurried pace is certainly a sign of grace and peace. I cannot have such a thing unless I am abiding in Him. It is an attitude of the heart.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of you and your mother. May His grace continually be yours...
Thank you, Cheryl.
DeleteYour gospel is bigger, your gripes fewer, your generosity freer,
ReplyDeleteand your laugh louder.
When I read this line, I think of my father - he's always been this to me; I hope to be like him in these growing-older years. Laughter - it really is a sweet grace.
Hi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteYea, I definitely think growing in grace is more about who we are than what we do........which is awesome. Learning that Less is more and loved that last line of your post about our gospel being
bigger, gripes fewer etc. and I would add to that it makes for a joyful life...........
Blessings, Nellie
