Maybe in 2014

A walk in a nearby nature preserve on a sunny afternoon
towards the end of 2013
represents my mood in the earliest hours of 2014...
calm, reflective, energized and appreciative of God's blessings.
I'm thankful for evidences of personal progress in faith
(some almost imperceptible, but undeniable),
for mysteries that remain,
and for confidence in the goodness of God in spite of those mysteries.
I've struggled to formulate resolutions
and would have happily settled for "my" word for 2014.
So far, nothing.
Maybe still in this first day, clarity will emerge.
Maybe.

  2. I love the very last picture of the tree bark! Isn't God a great artist? Rebecca, you've had a tumultuous year and have remained steadfast and loyal. It took me awhile to find my "word" but it came. My wish for you this year: Peace. I wish you peace.

And yes, God IS a great artist. And even if and when I can't decipher the specific message, I am in awe of its beauty.

  3. Happy New Year, Rebecca! A lovely post for the beginning of 2014. God has given me a theme for this year and while always excited, I never quite know how it shall all play out. But, I am also reminded me that He is with me and His faithfulness will sustain us through whatever comes our way. Praying God reveals His word for you in 2014. Praying Joy and Peace and many lovely outings like the photos posted above. Thank you for being a blessing in my life ~ Joanie

  4. And just maybe it's "maybe"! Oh the possibilities are endless, but I don't think you'll suffer one bit by not having a word/verse focus. Maybe ... you could focus on forward movement in a particular area if you're so inclined; that would be a win in my book. Blessings to you as you move into the promise of a new year.
