God Makes Things Grow

This is the view out our window at the downtown Hilton (Fort Wayne IN) this morning.
It's hard to know what it actually feels like outside when one has been cooped up inside
where temperature is so regulated -- but it looks very "soupy" and unpleasant, in my opinion!
Last night, Gary and I were gifted with matching orange T-shirts so we would be readily identified
as greeters at our denomination's biennial convention.  I enjoyed our 3+ hour stint
(but BOY were my legs sore after standing in one place for so long)!
This morning, my husband is responsible for a prayer session that will meet in Parkview Field --
our local minor league team's stadium adjacent to the complex we're staying/meeting in.
The major part of today will be spent in business meetings.
Last night, our speaker, Dave Engbrecht, reminded us from I Corinthians 3:7 that
 God Makes Things Grow.
He emphasized that it isn't formulas or new ideas that are responsible for
growth in churches, marriages, or any OTHER endeavor--but it's
God who Makes Things Grow.
Our part is to remove the barriers to growth.
A lot to think about.  We left encouraged!
Fog has cleared and from our window we can see 5 of the "at least 350 houses of worship" in this City of Churches.

  1. Sounds like a great topic - one we all need to consider. I am usually the problem I have found. Have a great time at the convention.

  2. We always think that it is up to us to 'do'....yet all He asks is - 'Let Me'. Enjoy your time there Rebecca. Peace to you.

  3. I am always my own worse barrier. That is a lot of churches in one place, and good to see a place where God is so at work. Love the t-shirts by the way, nice and understated ;)

    1. "Understated" is right! Actually, they worked out great - we were staggered around strategically and hardly had to SAY anything--just point to the next orange shirt!

  4. You two look cute in your matching shirts. I am glad the convention went well and you left encouraged. The view from the window would make me thankful for being in indoor comfort. The muggies have been horrible.

  5. I love the matching orange shirts, and the artistic angle from which the photo was taken... well, hello! and surprise! I'm here for a visit!

Read this post, and scrolled down to read a few more. Your garden is beautiful in its simplicity. The new reading spot is perfect. And I just loved the photo of your youngest grandson, Silas?

Since we are often (sometimes daily) connected on FB, I have really become amazed at how our friendship has become quite established... Well, I'm glad to have dropped by here. I really do always enjoy doing so. You are simple, and direct to the point.

Will come by again one of these days!

    Much love
