Before 6:30 A.M.

 Before 6:30 this morning, hubby and I had enjoyed our coffee together and read our
 "devotionals"  in the pleasant confines of our small back patio.
In addition to reading from a book, we observe/pray the Morning Office found here.
Thus the computer.
 Before 6:30, I'd found an appropriate-sized cup holder
 which I screwed into this tree to hang a 25-cent ceramic owl.
 A few years ago, a family of owls sat like statues on a branch of the same tree
 and fascinated us for most of the day
before they disappeared as mysteriously as they had come!
(A view at the foot of the same tree....)
On the way to the tree, I passed this rusty tray holding a
small collection of heart-shaped rocks.
I found the small whitest one yesterday on my walk to the post office ♥
I love mornings.
 Before 6:30 this morning, I'd enjoyed hearing the birds sing,
watched the energetic activity of a brown squirrel,
and admired the yellow assembly of irises in a distant flower bed.
I rise before dawn and cry for help;
    I have put my hope in your word.

(Psalm 119:147)
 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
    in the morning I lay my requests before you
  and wait expectantly.
 (Psalm 5:3)

  1. How peaceful, how reverent. The comfort of the familiar combined with the holiness of sanctuary.

    My patio is in disarray as we are preparing for a move.

  3. Very refreshing! Do y'all have mosquitoes up where you live? They eat me up when I try to go out on our back deck early in the morning! Looking for a "Mosquito plant" to put out there. I've heard they will keep the pests away.

    1. Mosquitoes were really bad a couple of weeks ago. One buzzed by me this morning, but didn't land. I'm embarrassed to say that a friend gave me a mosquito plant last year and I didn't keep it alive over the winter. Sure would be happy to have one now :)

  5. I to spend my morning hours with the Lord...the most precious time of my day...it renews me and strengthens me for the day. I seek a quiet peaceful place...sometimes it is in my living room and sometimes I go to the park. I would love to have seen your family of owls...they are so fascinating. Great way to display your rocks. :)

    1. If I remember right, there were like 4 babies sitting up there. Didn't move for the longest time. As "luck" would have it, our young grandchildren were here. We watched and watched and kept watching. They didn't seem to mind that we were right under the tree.....

  7. I love mornings, too. When my children were young I would get up at 4 and write until 7. My mind functions best in the morning. I was interested in the Morning Office. I've never heard of it and was happy you provided the link. Your owl makes me smile.
