He is the youngest of OUR youngest
and youngest of our eleven grandchildren.
None of them live very close to us, so it was special to spend a few hours
with this one who hardly knew me as "Grannie".
( Hopefully, I'll have future hours and days to spend with him.)
It was such a beautiful day...
so we spent a lot of it outdoors.
...Jesus called
over a child, whom he stood in the middle of the room, and said, “I’m
telling you, once and for all, that unless you return to square one and
start over like children, you’re not even going to get a look at the
kingdom, let alone get in. Whoever becomes simple and elemental again,
like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom. What’s more, when you
receive the childlike on my account, it’s the same as receiving me."
Oh Rebecca...he is just precious! He has your eyes. ~ I also read the translation The Message, I find it straight forward. ~ m.
ReplyDeletehe is adorable, and i love his name.
ReplyDeletesilas marner is one of my favorite
books.
I like his name, too. His middle name was his great-great grandfather's name (Everett).
DeleteThis is the little guy who spent some quality time in the hospital when he was born? Look at him now! Don't you just love how the Message reads? I also sometimes like the Amplified Bible too.
ReplyDeleteThat's right, Tamara! He made up for the health crisis BIG time! And yes, I frequently check out the Message. It's language is fresh and energizing. And the Amplified clarifies SO well. God's Word is powerful and effective :)
DeleteWhat a little cutie, it looks like he had a fine day with Grandma, and he sure has a look of you about him :)
ReplyDeleteI just love being a grandma!

Rebecca: He is so sweet! I can identify with the long-range grandparenting. Ours are in Colorado, 20 hours away. We miss them so. We too hope they remember us. We try to pack all the time and memories possible in every moment they are with us. Thanks for sharing. We were especially missing ours this weekend and I take a little comfort in knowing I'm not the only long-distance Granny--(I usually spell my "Granny" with a "y")--interesting to see you are "Grannie" too! So thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why I spelled it with an "ie". Maybe I'll just keep it that way :) And, no, Lori. You are not the only long-distance Grannie/y.
DeleteI was just getting ready to ask if Silas wasn't the little one I prayed for a while back...but I see in previous comments that he was indeed. How wonderful to see him so healthy and handsome! I know you loved spending time with this sweetheart!
ReplyDelete...and thank you for your prayers, Cheryl. ALL of his sweetness reminds me of how God answered the many prayers of His people!
DeleteMy idea of the perfect day! If playing with babies makes Him happy... I'm happy to be obedient!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Hi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteYour lil Silas is so adorable, and you looked like you were having the time of your
life.......that is how Brooklyn makes me feel. I had her all day and I am tired but
it is a very good tired. She is cooing and acting like she is talking and smiling
and making noises, so much fun.................
and I am with Debbie in the comment above.
Blessings hon, Nellie
He is sooooooo cute. What a blessing to have eleven grand children...I could use a few more :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this Grandmother's heart knows the joy of what you share here. What a sweet little guy!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! How precious are our grandchildren and knowing how much God loves them makes my heart joyful. Today starts the beginning of "Mawmaw Days" here. My four live close but they love to come alone over night.
ReplyDeleteOh, he is a cutie! But wasn't he just born? I remember praying for him.
ReplyDeleteYes! He WAS "just born"! A year ago. Thank you for praying. Look at him now :)
