Five Things - Ten Years

Another project completed by my husband.
"...can you...think of five things you would like to have come true in your life in (the next) ten years?" Ember asked in her post today.  I composed the following list of five.  While not complete, it DOES capture several longings that reside in my heart of hearts.

1. To be following a path of Gospel simplicity, living lightly on the earth and making the Lord Jesus known and loved everywhere.
2. Continuing the pattern of eating that has served me well the past 12 months (and hopefully enjoying the health it has brought me thus far).
3. Settled in smaller, simpler, and "earthy" living quarters, preferably with a view of a quiet lake or river, pond or "puddle"
4. Enjoying evenings of quiet, thoughtful company in the form of a few good friends, familiar books, and visits from grandchildren transitioning into adulthood.
5. Being a genuinely thankful, gracious, kind and contented person.

How would YOU answer that question?

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires.  Psalm 37:4

  1. I think my list would look a lot like yours, Rebecca. A simpler, quieter life. One change . . . I'll take a cottage at the foot of a mountain!

Oh, and a happy, contented heart for sure.

    1. Well...........the foot of a mountain would be just fine for me, too.

  2. 1) I would like to be following the path the Lord places before me with confidence and trust. 2)Making fabulous art 3)I would like a mountain view or lake view 4) Celebrating Franks complete healing of his heart. 5) See each of my children and grand children serving the Lord.

    1. I ♥ your list and pray God gives you the desires of your heart, Dee.

  3. Rebecca I loved reading your five things. What a thought provoking post! You've really got me thinking.
I like your earthy simplicity thoughts and ... so relate!
    The puddle gets me.
    I gotchya totally.

  4. I like your list.. mine would look much the same. I WOULD like to figure out how to live close to my children (who live 3 hours away)... without moving.. hmm?

    Blessings, Debbie
