Mother's Day Eve

Mother's Day Eve promises to be a full and busy day.
There will be a Graduation Open House to attend later this afternoon.
Before that, I have a cake to bake (along with making meatloaf and refrigerated
mashed potatoes) to carry to my mother's house after church tomorrow.
I'm counting on two crock pots to make this happen!
I will finish work on the Power Point presentation that will
accompany the Sunday morning service - songs and sermon.-
SOMEtime today...
but First Things First!
I strolled the yard in my nightgown to check the progress
of this old rose bush (above)
and photograph the first peony flower of the season.
There were other things to admire in the flower beds...

and I took another look at the swing we rescued from the curb last week.
Gary and I sat on it together last night, enjoying the cool of the evening.
Then I rounded the house to look at my husband's handiwork.
This is one-half of the path he weeded last night.
After sweeping off the stones, I was reminded that
(He) will show me the path of life; in (His) presence is fullness of joy,
at (His)  right hand there are pleasures forevermore.  (Psalm 16:11)
AND
that there is maintenance involved
in keeping a path clean and clear....
and that includes a "life" path!

I'll be staying close to my cell phone and Skype
waiting for calls about our little Silas.
It sounds like he may spend at least another week in the hospital
Thank you for your prayers and encouraging words....
 and
Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mothers!
God bless us EVERY one!

  3. Morning Rebecca,
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you today, and you were wise
to take a stroll thru your yard, that has a way of bringing such peace and quiet, and seems like you can just feel HIS presence. Your peonies are gorgeous, like your beautiful background with them. Lovely!
also loved that plant that somehow looks frosted or something, beautiful. I too, love walking around my yard and seeing anything that is blooming, just makes my heart sing!!

Sorry to hear Silas will be in the hospital another week! Will sure continue to pray....did they come up with any diagnosis yet?? and How is his Mommy and Daddy holding up??? Bless their hearts!
and for Mother's Day too.............course, I am sure she is just elated he is doing okay.

Your stone pathway is so pretty, and loved your analogy about the path of life, oh so true............

You have a very Happy Mother's Day hon,
    Love and blessings, Nellie

    Did they ever make
a diagnosis on lil Silas yet??

  4. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my post this morning! It was so nice to catch up with you and then to read this. This is our village well, isn't it, we meet our women friends and chat here.
You are busy, too, and your garden is looking so beautiful. I love your stone path, we need to put something like that around our flower garden in front of our house. No grass will grown there, so a pretty flagstone path, of sorts, would be lovely.
I hope and pray that your precious Silas will be out of hospital soon.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day, dear lady.
    Love and hugs, Cindy
