The Old, Old Story

I love to tell the story
of unseen things above,
of Jesus and his glory,
of Jesus and his love.
I love to tell the story,
because I know 'tis true;
it satisfies my longings
as nothing else can do.
I love to tell the story;
more wonderful it seems
than all the golden fancies
of all our golden dreams.
I love to tell the story,
it did so much for me;
and that is just the reason
I tell it now to thee.

I love to tell the story;
'tis pleasant to repeat
what seems, each time I tell it,
more wonderfully sweet.
I love to tell the story,
for some have never heard
the message of salvation
from God's own holy Word.
 I love to tell the story,
for those who know it best
seem hungering and thirsting
to hear it like the rest.
And when, in scenes of glory,
I sing the new, new song,
'twill be the old, old story
that I have loved so long.
Refrain:
I love to tell the story,
'twill be my theme in glory,
to tell the old, old story
of Jesus and His love.
Just a few scenes from The Holy Land Experience
that we enjoyed Wednesday afternoon.
At every turn, the old old story of Jesus and His love was communicated!
Beautiful weather in a most beautiful setting
 with beautiful friends.
Next time YOU are in Orlando, put this on your "to do" list!

  1. Thank you for posting this, it's really so beautiful (photos and song).
    And so interesting, I had no idea this was in Orlando. Next time we are there we will definitely have to try and get there!

  2. I think your family would really enjoy it, Eileen. There is a fun kids' part to it, too.

    1. Sure was, Diana - an old "gospel song" (as some people identify it).

  5. Yes! We went there during the summer of 2010. The "passion play" was especially moving. And, thank you for posting the words of my favorite hymn. Although now retired, I had the wonderful privilege for many years of telling the "old, old, story" as a teacher in several Christian schools. It was a priceless blessing to tell God's story to children with prepared, open hearts. It was truly "more wonderfully sweet" to me each time I told it.

  6. Hi Rebecca,
    No, I had not been by so didn't know you were in Orlando this week
    and at HolyLand Experience as well. So glad you enjoyed it. It looks like it must not have been as crowded as when we were there, which must have been so wonderful.............
    cause I was looking at your header pic where they were doing the
    scene from the garden, and when we were there we couldn't get near it to see it, we could hear it, and see a lil, but back where all the buildings were was just a huge sea of people that you could not get thru unfortunately. So glad it was like that for yall. Neat pics of Campus Crusade too, never been there before, but our previous pastor worked for Campus crusade before becoming a Pastor. they trained him well............

    Glad you enjoyed my Pantry redo, we are thrilled with it, sounds crazy but we really are...........Cas had more good ideas like the
    2X4's but since I put all my can good in the door shelves it wasn't necessary for me. She said she got more comments on that post than any other..............guess we all like to be organized more than we realize!! lol
    Hope you find a lil towel rack............
    Have a great week ahead hon,
    Nellie
