(W)Here We Are

I had no idea of the size of the Campus Crusade for Christ Campus
(if I'm correct, it will soon be called simply "Cru")
until we arrived here Monday!
Most of our time has been spent inside
We met in one of two duplicate buildings.
Above is the center of the building, second floor,
looking down on the main desk.
On of the wings appeared to be devoted to The Jesus Film Project.
Below, main desk, looking down from second floor...
Looking out the window during a break,
we see the second building (which appears identical to the one we were in).
Our group is small--I don't think more than 25 people.
The prayers have been large.
It is a gathering of prayer leaders from various denominations
united by our ♥ for Jesus.
Dare I say that after hearing the State of the Union address last night,
I believe our prayers -- MY prayers and yours-- are urgently needed?!?
(No, maybe I shouldn't have dared to say that.)

The apostles had a single purpose as they devoted themselves to prayer.
They were joined by some women, including Mary (the mother of Jesus),
and they were joined by his brothers.
Acts 1:14

  1. Oh, yes, Rebecca, you should have said that and you are absolutely right. We must pray as never before! Imagine how we might change our world if all who believe in Christ would pray for our country just one hour every day.
    This is a beautiful campus.
    Traveling mercies back home~

  2. I don't know if I ever told you that my husband and I used to be with Campus Crusade when their headquarters was in San Bernardino. We were involved as students in college then went on to join the staff at headquarters after graduation. I've never been to their Florida campus. I agree with you on prayer for our country.

  4. Great photos!
And didn't I just read something about a big controversy over the name change? I have to agree with the 'naysayers' ~ couldn't it be changed to 'Cru for Christ'? Why did they have to omit The Lord's Name in order to attract more people? I guess I just don't get it.

And, of course I agree with your sentiments, I think a great many of the silent majority do. And I think they are no longer so silent.

My political philosophy is (no matter which Party is in charge) ~ God Bless America ~ God Help America ~ God Protect America from her leaders!
I don't have much faith in politics or in our political leaders but I do have a great deal of faith in God to lead us where He wants us to be!
    Love and Prayers,
    Eileen

  6. I didn't care for the name change but my dear friend who is on staff with CCC explained that it better reflects the scope of the ministy which today goes well beyond the college campus...and also that in many unreached places of the world the words "crusade" and "Christ" turn people away before they even get a chance to hear the Gospel, which obviously is the main event...so I'm sure we'll all get used to it. I also learned it has been in the works for many years and has been "tested" before the decision was made.

Love that you are someplace sunny and warm Rebecca! And finding some sunshine for your soul as well!
