Look Up

I took this picture through a car window as I traveled a country road this morning.  It didn't accurately capture the strange formations beaming down from the clouds. In real life, they appeared gray.  Here they show up white.  It was strange.  As it is, the picture actually turned out quite beautifully.

I'm often busy looking at landscape.  Today it was skyscape that captured me.  I want to remember to take more time looking UP instead of around and down...AND see it all through HIS "lens" instead of what "appears" to my eyes.  Apparently what appears gray may be brighter than I first perceive!
Look around and be distressed,
  Look within and be depressed.
Look to Jesus and be at rest.
So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up,
for your salvation is near!"  Luke 21:28

  1. Oh, it's lovely just the way it is! And I'd read that poem in a Corrie Ten Boom book many years ago; very wise, isn't it?

  2. Yes, Jeanette...The 3 lines show up in google in many forms & variations. I "learned" it back in the 60s...

  3. My grandson and I were on a walk yesterday afternoon and I looked up at the sky...just a few feathery cirrus clouds in the clear blue, tall vivid green trees reaching up to the heavens, a moment of worship in my spirit took place. :)

  4. (I posted a comment but it 'disappeared', so this may be a duplicate!)
One could almost expect to see Jesus himself in those clouds. And so, Come Lord Jesus!
Thanks for the encouragement. The picture is beautiful.

  9. The sky often gives me reason to pause and consider the greatness of God. We have lovely clouds gathering in our neighborhood; that being said, I know what's coming in a few days--Irene!
