The Good, Bad, and Unexpected

In addition to fun in the park on Saturday morning with our grandkids from Illinois and car repair this morning, we enjoyed a Friday evening pizza bash with a couple of my siblings and their spouses, a wedding (Saturday evening) and a short trip to Ohio on Sunday afternoon to check on my mother who experienced a health issue earlier in the day.
With a little help from a friend who will show him where to put it if necessary, my husband will attempt to install a new starter in our son's van.  We exchanged vehicles with him on Saturday night so that he and his family could return home to Illinois for church responsibilities on Sunday.  If all goes well, Gary and I will meet him halfway between here and there and return a working van to him later this afternoon.

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such a city..."
You don't even know what tomorrow will bring--what your life will be!
For you are a bit of smoke that appears for a little while, then vanishes.
Instead, you should say,  "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that."  James 4:13-15

  2. Sounds like a great weekend to me. I hope your mother has recovered. It is so great that Gary is so gifted at repairs! I like the license plate.

  3. I read some of your previous posts. What happened in Joplin Missouri is so sad - hit by a monster tornado...

Wonder if people see the timing of the disaster to the announcement of Pres. Obama about dividing Jerusalem etc. during his speech at the State Dept on May 19... If the president wants the nation to be blessed, then I think he should change his advisers and get those who understand the Biblical stand about blessing Israel.

Thank you too for your heartfelt comment on my latest post. I appreciate your words and your taking time to visit.

    Love

  4. Great scripture for this post! And I love wedding season... We haven't begun yet. Our first is the first weekend of July. But then hold on to your hats because this girl is going to PARTY!

    Blessings, Debbie

  5. Reminds me of something Nick's commencement speaker said a few weeks ago at graduation (it didn't originate with her):

Life is what happens when you're making other plans!

How thankful I am for parents who, like you both, go the extra mile on my behalf! You're such good folk!
