Filled and Fulfilled

On a full and fulfilling Mother's Day, I read this small book in its entirety,
journalling three full pages of notes and inspiring and challenging quotes.
I highly recommend this book!
We spent some time at the Extension Gardens.
We were happy to see many new flower beds.
The Master Gardeners have been hard at work.
The trees were in bloom, and the poppies were brilliant.

After passing many restaurants with lines of people waiting to be seated,
I chose Pizza Hut where we enjoyed our favorite pizza - thick crust, taco.
Then we drove through the countryside to visit my parents.
There we enjoyed conversation, a game of Sevens,
and some apple crisp with ice cream on top.
Calls from my children made the day complete.
I am filled and fulfilled this day-after-Mother's-Day.

  1. Your Pizza Hut has taco pizzas? That was always my favorite. Can't get it around here. Sounds like you had a good day.

  3. Your day sounds sweet! That pizza does too,
but we don't have it here. Ah, apple crisp
and ice cream! Not that is something we
    have around here quite often!
I heard of that book and was considering
    reading it.

  4. Sandy, the book was simple and encouraging. There were so many good quotes from godly saints of "yesteryear". I needed to be reminded of these "rules" or concepts of God's faithfulness in hard times.

  5. Seriously my kind of day! Reading, gardens, pizza, drives, apple crisp and games... perfect!

Thank you so much for your encouragement when you visited me today. You have no idea what a big deal this is for me. I gave my mom a poem 2 years ago. I gave one to my brother when he was baptized 2 months ago. Other than that, I've never even shared that I enjoy writing them. I still feel just a bit awkward about sharing but your thoughtfulness helps...

  6. Hi Rebecca,
Sounds like you had a lovely day, sometimes simple and relaxing is very good. I have never heard of that book, but it sounds very good.
Those gardens looked very pretty too, and we used to love pizza hut pizza but the last times we got it they had changed the sauce or something and we just didn't like it as much, so when we get pizza now we go to Papa John's now. I really dislike it very much when you have
a product you really like and then they go and change it. We used to like Lil caesar's too cause they had the garlic crust then they stopped doing that and it ruined the pizza as far as we were concerned.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed your taco pizza!! lol

Sounded like a lovely evening with your parents too, and so glad you heard from children, I am sure that helped make it a great day as well.

Can't wait to see if you share those notes you took at some point.
Glad you enjoyed your day hon!!

Blessings for a great week ahead,
    Nellie

  7. Nellie, NObody makes Pizza like Pizza Hut! (Well, there are some Chicago pizzas that are delicious....but locally, we like Pizza Hut.) Yes, I will pick out a few of the notes I took and share them tomorrow!

  8. Sounds like a wonderful day! I enjoyed a couple slices of Hawaiian pizza from Donato's last night (one of my faves!). And just reading about that apple crisp has me drooling right now. :)

  9. Hi Rebecca,
It sounds like you had a lovely day. The blooms you photographed are beautiful- just like your wonderful blog. I especially liked the earlier post you did on the Royal Wedding day about being aware of the true power and glory. Thanks for visiting my blog and welcoming me to the blogosphere. Have a sweet week.

  10. ok since the conversation has turned to pizza :) I'm weighing in.
We have several non-chains that we frequent and love...but if we are ordering pizza to eat here at the house while we watch a movie, it will be DONATO's. Two favorites: chicken veggie medley and mozzerella trio. THIN CRUST! Try them ya'll!
