A Day in the Life Of...

Who looks happier here?
  • Finished a thought-provoking book (Leaving Church by Barbara Brown Taylor)
  • Received a picture message of my son and grandson at a "Donuts with Dad" event
  • Cleaned a bathtub & washed the shower curtain
  • Did a load of wash
  • Spent $40+ dollars at the grocery store (passed up a lot of extras and hastily composed some vegetarian meals while going up and down the aisles)
  • Returned 2 library books
  • Did some research and downloaded material to rehash
  • Made some chocolate/oatmeal drop cookies to send to with my husband to evening's Church Board meeting
  • Documented the first columbine blooms in our flower beds
  • Prayed for some pressing needs of friends & church
Of course, there was more,
but sometimes it helps me to look back
and see if anything at all was accomplished...

Teach us to number each of our days so that we may grow in wisdom.  Psalm 90:12

  1. A lovely day Rebecca!!!!
Are you eating vegetarian? I think I could be vegetarian for the most part. Especially if cookies are on the menu. lol
Hey, I'm wanting to update my blog and have some ideas how to do it with tabs like you have. How do I do this? Also how do I make cursive writing like you did? Please help!

  2. Wow, busy day! You're right. Sometimes we go about life and feel like we got nothing done. But writing it out proves that we did! :)

  3. Lea, I'm going to try to explain how I did it.....

Sarah, Nothing earth shattering. Just the simple stuff needing to be done in an ordinary day. But simple stuff adds up!

  4. Wow, all in one day? That's amazing! I always get more done if I give God the first hour of my day.

    Love,
    Jen

    P.S. That photo is priceless!

  5. I love coming over to your blog to see what is new. One can never tell what I will find. Your blog is quite unpredictable. And now, this post. Yes, our days are definitely much more than what we can put into words. But it helps to see what we have accomplished in black and white.

Rebecca, I also scrolled down to read some of your past posts. The one you wrote on hats is good.

And the one about reading. You are so right about excessive internet usage. It dulls the senses.

Blessings on your day... I am really glad I came by.

    Love

  6. A couple of *days* ago, I looked up some hymns with the word *day* in them. Days are what our lives are made up of....so we had better be careful with every one of them.

  7. Wow! Great job! Sometimes, I like to make a list after the fact to convince myself that I had a productive day. You were very productive!

  9. Hi Rebecca,
Looks like a very productive day to me.
I like to make a list of things to do myself, and I get sooo much more accomplished when I do, and I have to say I love love love marking them off the list!! It is very motivating.......do you feel that way too???
    Blessings, Nellie

  10. Sure DO, Nellie! This was NOT a particularly productive day for me. I think that's why I wrote the list...just to see if I really DID do anything!

If I start the day with a list (which I often do), I AM more "productive"! On THIS particular day, I had to make the list at the end to see what/if anything I had accomplished.
