♪ Keep praising, keep praising, when the days are dark and drear,
Keep praising, keep praising! God will guide you never fear.
Keep praising, keep praising, thankful hearts to Him be raising,
For the Lord has said, "there is glory on ahead!" So keep on praising Him! ♪
I woke up with this song in my mind yesterday. It was etched there by repeated exposure to it years and years ago! There was no television in our house growing up. WMBI (Moody Radio) was "on" throughout the day. I believe this song was a "theme" song for a daily, morning program. (If ANYone remembers details, PLEASE let me know. Seems like the host's name might have been Al Smith?????)
This past week and TODAY, I need the message of this song in a special way.
To have it in my heart and on my lips this morning is SO reassuring.
God WILL guide me!
There IS glory on ahead!
As you know I often have songs running through my head too, which translates to in the heart and on the lips as you say. It highlights the old adage, "garbage in, garbage out" or in THIS case, "praises in, praises out" ! Being around my grands so much and hearing them constantly repeating things they have heard makes me more conscious of how important it is to fill their minds (and mine) with that which is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, praiseworthy. Philippians 4:8-9 The "reward" for this, it says, is "the God of peace is with you". I sense you have His peace this morning Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteI love it when the Lord lays a song on our hearts....it's just another way of HIM speaking to us!! Thanks so much for sharing, Ms. Rebekah!!! HOPE you have a week full of blessings!
ReplyDeleteI love the lyrics. I don't think I ever heard it before. When the kids were little there was one, "Don't give up on the brink of a miracle, don't give up, God is still on the throne." Emily sang it, "God is still on the phone."
ReplyDeleteMy day is so much sweeter when I start with praise.
I don't think I've ever heard this song
ReplyDeletebut I do so believe in the lyrics. We
are commanded to praise Him because He
is God and so worthy. Even if it is a
great sacrifice to offer the praise we
must praise Him.
Hope your day is blessed with His peace
as you praise Him.
So do I. I will keep you in prayer as you continue to praise Him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement.
"Glory on ahead..."
