Gifts Already

It was lovingly selected...I was blessed and surprised to receive it from the sweet "sisters" in our bi-weekly Bible study! This beautiful piano ornament will be displayed year 'round with the rest of my "piano" collection.

THIS ornament (though fuzzy in the photos) was hand- painted by a lovely woman in our community.  It was part of the "Naughty Santa" exchange I participated in earlier this week--YOU know...where you can steal a present from another person who then can steal one from someone else or open a new one?!?  I was thrilled to "win" it!
By the way, have you participated in any "new" twists on gift exchanges?  I'd enjoy hearing some fresh and fun ideas.

This is Christmas:  not the tinsel, not the giving and receiving,
not even the carols, but the humble heart
that receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ.

  1. Hi dear sister in Christ,

I've been absent for a time but whenever the Lord brought you to mind, I prayed for you Rebecca.

  4. Been having some internet connection problems so I am just now catching up on my blog visits. I love the Christmas get togethers at church with card and gift exchanges and all the extra Christmas hugs. Your piano ornament is unique.

  5. HI REBECCA-

Beautiful ornaments - lovely sentiments as well.
Three close girl friends and I celebrate several times a year, birthdays, summer barbecue, Fall Harvest and Christmas - for Christmas we each make a traditional food to share from our family holiday celebrations. :-) It is always a loving and delicious gathering.

    Love to you

  7. Two beautiful ornaments to treasure! So, so nice! I have a hand painted ornament on my tree~a poinsetta~that my mom did in 1981. We play that game at our extended family party (which is coming up this Saturday!) ~~ it is always a lot of fun. Everyone brings a $10 gift and you never know what you'll end up with. We're just way too large a family to exchange gifts with everyone so this works out very well! It is limited to the adults (13 and up) ... the little kids (my mom's great-grandchildren) all get a $10 gift from either Santa, la befana, or this year, MRS. Claus! My sibs and I (6 of us) purchase the gifts to save mom the expense.
