Almost There!

My father, age 84, volunteered to help us put the trim around the finished floor yesterday.  It is a joy to watch him and my husband work together as they have throughout my married life.  I am SO blessed!
Today I'm listening to ♪Christmas music♪ while I peck away at getting furniture moved back in, buffet and other furniture refilled, etc.  I enjoy the various corners and the view by lamplight.  We are very pleased with the floor.  The mess was well worth it.
My husband painted the mirror above our mantel white last night.  I told him it could be my birthday present, and he complied!  Stockings are stuffed; cookies baked.  Tonight is our candlelight Christmas Eve service at church.  I have several packages to wrap and some baked French toast to prepare before tomorrow's small (9 of us) Christmas gathering.   The BIG one is coming up next week.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL of YOU
God bless us, Everyone!

  5. Your floor is beautiful and I would agree it was well worth the extra work. It looks warm and I love the rug on it under the table.

I miss my father-in-law. He pastored for over 50 years and was a great man of prayer.

I love your blessing by Wilda English. It lives within you and shines through all your words. You have been a blessing for me to count at the end of this year.

  8. wow! I LOVE the new floor AND the freshly painted mirror. It definitely pops now that it is white. Is that roll top desk a newer one or an antique? We have a newer one that looks very similar, with an old chair in front of it too. I'll send you a pic. Good minds think alike! What is the name of the color of your floor? It is wood or pergo? Just gathering info in case I ever get so fortunate as to get mine replaced!!!
