A Major Reason for Thanksgiving

This is one of the more recent pictures of my husband.  I post it this Thanksgiving Eve because I am more thankful for him THIS evening than I can remember being for a long, long time!

We are hosting Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow in our home.  I have been unable to do much more than roast the turkey, make a pumpkin dip, and pick up a few odds and ends around the house.  I've done a load of wash, made the gravy, and prepared the liquid for the stove top stuffing I will make tomorrow.

As I write, he's cleaning the garage where we plan to set up  two large tables to accommodate tomorrow's crowd.  He has carved the turkey and it's covered in the refrigerator, ready to be heated up tomorrow. This leaves us room in the oven for the ham and other hot dishes we'll need to prepare tomorrow.

Anything that I ask, he would do it for me.  In my weakness, he is strong.  He has loved me faithfully through many ups and downs, and in the current health challenge I'm facing, he is being particularly sensitive and helpful.  I am unusually blessed.

THANK YOU, HEAVENLY FATHER,
FOR MY STRONG, KIND, and LOVING HUSBAND.

  1. Your husband sounds just like mine. I
tell everyone that Kim is the kindest
man who ever walked the earth other
than Jesus. He does anything I ask of
him and is always more than ready to
help with housework should the need
arise. He is the most wonderful dad
to our two sons and always has a kind
    encouraging word for everyone. Most
importantly, he loves Jesus with all
    his heart.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow and I'm
glad you were able to do some things
in preparation for your dinner tomorrow.
    Blessings,
    Sandy

  2. I sure can identify with you! Ken called on his way home from work to see if I'd forgotten anything at the grocery on Monday.

He patiently made his way around Meijer and dealt with all of the construction traffic to Jamison's on Dupont Road where he found a gluten free turkey breast for me to roast tonight and take along tomorrow.

I'm almost done--just need to frost and decorate my mother-in-law's "turkey birthday cake." She will be 87 on November 26! I made her one of these years ago and she loved it.

Ken helped me out so much and w/o complaining the year I was down with my broken feet. We are truly blessed with great guys!

Try to get a good night's rest and enjoy your housefull tomorrow!

    Hugs,
    Rosa

  9. You are indeed blessed! So so sorry you are suffering with those shingles. Praying it will heal up soon. I'm amazed you can do Thanksgiving dinner in the garage. It is 37 degrees here and pouring rain. Though my health challenge is nothing compared to what you are going through right now, I'm having another allergic reaction to something unknown. Face and neck swollen and itchy...and our photo appt is Sat! I pray the Lord will grant you a beautiful day with family and friends and that your pain will be minimized. Blessings to you and Gary this day!
