♪ I'm Dreaming of a White Pumpkin ♪

A little over a year ago, a friend invited me to go to "ceramics" with her.  I was not very eager to go.  I don't need ANY more doo-dads around my house.  But I agreed to go -- mainly to spend time with her and to observe what brought her pleasure.  After looking at the stock of gnomes and dragons, my eyes fell on this pumpkin canister.  My "love affair" with white pumpkins was in its early stages, and I decided if I could finish this pumpkin in white, I would DO it.  I'm not sure anyone else understood why I wanted a white pumpkin, but I finished it and have never regretted painting it white.

On the one hand, it seems like I carried my pumpkin home YESTERDAY.  On the other hand, my ceramic encounter seems like it happened YEARS ago.  While reflecting about my "time warp", I remembered a verse about the Lord--a verse that is SO helpful in explaining GOD'S timing when I'm having difficulty understanding it...

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends:
With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
2 Peter 3:8

  1. Beautiful and I love white pumpkins...I have had real ones that didn't last and yours will. Last year I stenciled on my white pumpkin...it was a wall stencil and I so enjoyed it...not Halloween style
Enjoy and the verse was such a blessing this morning as I have been talking with the Lord about His timing and not mine!

  4. Hi Rebecca...sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. You asked about which font I use...It's all stuff that's already on blogger. I use the font "Verdana"...I make the font size "large"..and I type everything in italics. You just have to like in the "I" icon that's leaning to the right. That's what I use for the moment...I LOVE "papyrus", but I haven't figured out how to add that to my blog yet!!! Oh, LOVE pumpkins by the way!!! Have a lovely day today. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  6. I know I overuse this word, but I LOVE your white pumpkin. Trying not to be jealous! I really do not care for the color "orange" so I have to get creative at this time of year. A white pumpkin seems just RIGHT! That verse is a thought provoking one, isn't it?

  16. Never heard of white pumpkins. Yours is elegant. Thanks for stopping by my blog. You certainly are familiar with change. I lived on the farm for 19 years, then in the same small town for 35 (altho' we moved to different houses every ten years), and the last move 9 years ago
to here. I'm no stranger to change, and used to love it. I'm trying to embrace change.
