Why I didn't take more pictures, I'm really not sure! I was in this GLoRioUs DaZE...reveling in the adventure of meeting a Blogging Friend for the first time. Speaking from THIS end, there was instant recognition followed by an overwhelming sense of wanting to know EVERYTHING and not knowing where to begin. It truly was (as I wrote her when I got home)..."as if we'd known you all our lives and wishing we had".
The men hit it off just fine, too. We met for a wonderful buffet dinner and then visited an enchanting Christmas shop down the road--both of which were secondary to our face-to-face meeting.
Heaven? I think it will be "out of sight"! The streets of gold, gates constructed of gems, the 12 trees lining the river that flows from the throne, mansions even. But it will be secondary to our face-to-Face meeting with the One who saved us by His grace!
"Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine" (Fanny Crosby)
I'm glad you were able to meet a blogging friend in real life. That's great...and I'm glad that everyone enjoyed each others company :) :) :) Have a lovely week. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
ReplyDeleteAmen to that, Rebecca! I hope I get to meet you someday! Isn't that like our God though? Meeting Jesus is the ultimate experience, yet in His lavish love He added streets of gold, etc.! I wonder if the wonderful gems of heaven and the golden streets are a reflection of Jesus wonderful self in that there could be no other way to furnish Heaven when He is there shining in His glory! A few years ago these yellow diamonds began appearing in jewelry stores. Every time I see them I think of heaven and street of gold so pure you can see through them!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that!!!!Hope to meet some bloggers too sometime. Yes and I do look forward to the face to face meeting of the LORD more than anything else!!!!!! Great Post Meg
ReplyDeleteI agree! It was a foretaste of glory divine!!! Thanks for a most memorable day. I can't wait to do it again!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that Fanny Crosby hymn! We can't even imagine what it'll be like to sit down and talk to Jesus face to face, but I'm glad He gives us tiny "glory glimpses" here on earth!
ReplyDeleteI recognize that face...she's my blog friend, too. Jacque.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but rejoice with you as well. My blog friends are very much a part of my world now.
You have put it so beautifully.
It's a foretaste of what heaven will be like. A grand reunion of all friends and loved ones.
It will take forever for us to really enjoy all our relationships. And in heaven there will be no goodbyes.
Love
Lidj
Having just returned from Idaho and meeting three "blog sisters" I know just what you are saying. It's like we've known each other for years!
ReplyDeleteMaybe one day I'll be fortunate enough to meet both of you in person too!
Oh, Pat! Wouldn't that be wonderful? You just NEVER know...
ReplyDeleteLidj, We actually mentioned you when we met Saturday :) So in a way, you were with us - at least in thought.

What fun! It is like meeting a penpal. Great photos. I know right where you are. I do miss Archbold visits. Yes, face to face now and then is the best.
