Remembering....
I planted two flowers this morning as I remembered...
Fittingly, our devotional title this morning was "Don't Be Disturbed". And the verse under the title:
"The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect." (Psalm 33:10)
"Remember this: When you make God your stronghold in the time of trouble, no one can overcome you. No matter how powerful they are in the natural, the odds are in your favor because you trust in the Lord. They may think they've got an edge over you, but God is on your side and that gives you the advantage...Don't let the temporary successes of the troublemaker disturb you. Instead, 'mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace' (verse 37)."
So, THIS I will remember when I look at the two asters. (See more about them here.) Though annuals, I'm hopeful they survive the winter and will come back next year...

ReplyDeleteBlessings to you Rebecca!
Oh Rebecca I needed these verses today! Thank you for writing such a mighty post! It's easy for me at times to get lost in the trial of the moment. But then I'm so thankful that my Heavenly Father never changes and is right there waiting on me to look to HIM for His strength.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish you lived next door so that I could come see your flowers and learn from you. I'm not so good with annuals and would like to be. My Black eye-ed Susans that I planted came up 2 years in a row but not this year and someone told me you couldn't kill those! How wonderful that you planted those Asters and they will remind you of your memories.
Blessings,
Lee Ann
Great scripture and very fitting for today's remembrance of 911.
