Fountains

With a slight drop in temperature outside, my energy level seems to have risen!   Yesterday I moved THIS Hoosier cabinet to the sun porch.  It had been in our small laundry closet and took up precious space.

I replaced it with the upright cabinet below (thrifted for $8 and painted by my husband).  I'm so THRILLED with the result!

Sitting UNDER the Hoosier cabinet (and long forgotten by me) was this indoor fountain.  I'd always wanted one.  Years ago we were visiting an art show featuring art by students at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.  I saw this fountain, admired the design, and purchased it (for a fairly high price by my standards).

When we moved, it found its way to the floor underneath the Hoosier cabinet in the laundry closet. Now, it's on TOP of the cabinet,  making a soft bubbling sound as the water tumbles from the "spout", over the rocks, and into the water....

Quietly refreshing. Restorative. Peace-inducing.

I'm going to gather more information and make sure it's working properly.

"The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life..." (Proverbs 13:14)

  5. What joy and sense of excitement shifting a few furniture around can bring into our lives.

The $8 cabinet in your laundry area will surely be put to good use, and the Hoosier cabinet has finally found its rightful place.

Your indoor fountain is one I'd also like to have. Love the sound of water while I read or journal, or listen to music.

Yes, your new blog look is just like you. I'm scared to make the change though, cause I heard that sometimes everything gets lost in the process. Was it easy for you?

Blessings on your Saturday evening, Rebecca.

  7. Lidj...it honestly didn't seem that difficult. A little trial and error maybe.

Somehow, rearranging furniture seems to stimulate my mind and emotions positively. Imagine the pleasure God must feel as He re-creates and restores sinners to a state of grace! Imagine His pleasure when our lives are rearranged and realigned with His will and purposes for us!

  11. Isn't it truly amazing what a little cool air does for our energy and stamina! I am looking forward to fall! I love your fountain, it is very unique. And the Hoosier cabinet seems much more fitting where you moved it! The upright seems more appropriate for a laundry area! Good job my friend! And could you send some cool air this way? Tuesday is supposed to be 99, yuck!

  13. I love the sound of water...I have an outdoor small pond so I can hear it.
Oh, I grew up hearing this..."mom, where are we going?" She would reply, "to Kalamazoo Michigan to get a load of goats." I never knew there was even a place until I was an adult.
This Texas girl has never been to Michigan...maybe one day.
I love what you did...I have been finding some treasures at thrift stores also...have fun!!!
