Need Help With Those Resolutions?

I came across an excellent evaluation tool.  It helps one reflect on the past year and set some priorities and goals for the coming one.  If you're interested, check it out here.  I'll be spending some serious time tomorrow afternoon going through this list, setting up my 2010 journal, and spending some time in prayer and reflection.

I've seen a major goal become reality in 2009.  I believe a strong factor in achieving it was stating it specifically - having a deadline, a way to measure it, and some practical steps to reach it.  In spite of my part, however, I can't say enough about God.  "His divine power gives me everything I need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called me to his own glory and excellence"  (my paraphrase of  II Peter 1:3).

  3. Cute cartoon! But if 'truth be told' in our house it would be the opposite! I'm the one that is always telling Ray what to do!

I'll go to that site because I can use all the help I get!
    Blessings in the New Year!

  8. Hi Rebecca,
Pleased to meet you! Thanks for stopping by to say hello. Am sorry to hear your husband is having heart issues. Will sure pray he does well with whatever the procedure is he is having next week. Have never heard of that.
My husband had bypass surgery 4 yrs. ago.
These medical issues really stretch us don't they??? Especially when they come to those we love sooooo much! But God is good and see's us
thru all this scary stuff if we lean hard on Him!
Glad you enjoyed my Thankful thursday post, I always love doing it cause it makes me dig deep and helps me really focus on all that the Lord does for me and around me.
Hope to talk to you again soon. Will be praying for you and your hubby next week hon.
Let me know how things go, okay??
Blessings, peace and joy to you both,
    Nellie

  9. No time like the present--New Year's Day--to set some goals; I don't like to call them resolutions. I'll check out the site you mentioned.

I already picked up my Bible reading schedule from church to read through the Bible in 1 year. I did that in 2008 and then last year didn't have a real system, leading to not as much study, I'm afraid.

Have a great day of study and meditation and goal setting.

  10. I don't believe in resolutions. If there is something that I need to change, I just pray for the strength to do it and then I do it.

  11. Diana, that is a great approach. I envy people like you. Unfortunately, procrastination is one of my continual flaws. That being the case for me, I find that verbalizing or writing down intentions (kind of like list-making) helps me get to the task. More of my intentions and dreams seem to be accomplished when I (like you) have bathed them in prayer and made some concrete efforts to plan, save, exercise or WHATever is necessary on my part....

  12. Rebecca dear,
Thank you for your words of encouragement about my post. I aim to communicate what is in my heart after having churned it in my head. God bless you; I see you are an educator as well. We teachers must always create, whether it is for our own pleasure or the good of our students, but either way, CREATIVITY is the start of it all! You have the most interesting blogs! And you are a very lovely lady. I love your profile picture! God bless you, Anita
