I asked my husband to bring in the stray horse from our garage to see if it wouldn't fit in to our Christmas decor. He not only brought it in, but dusted it off well and placed it here, beside our stairway. Eight stockings rise above it. I'm liking the look. I'll try to take pictures of some other horses I have congregated on top of an old wardrobe in the music/library room. Don't know how I got started with this "collection". They just catch my fancy.
This one was on a throw-away pile at some friends' house. (I'm calling it vintage and will feature it on Monday at my Vintage Christmas Monday post on one of my other blogs.)
A beautiful addition to what looks like, a beautiful wooden staircase. I love a staircase, especially a dated one--one that carries with it some life lived!
ReplyDeletepeace to you this weekend~elaine
I like the look too Rebecca...very festive.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.

Rebecca...How beautiful!! How could anyone throw that away...??
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found it...and it looks stunning...a perfect place for it.
Warm hugs,
Jackie

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful time of year...thanks for all the comments!!
Love, Jerelene
I love how the horse looks in that spot Rebecca, and how good a "find" was that horse.
ReplyDeleteStay warm my friend......:-) Hugs
So glad you rescued that beautiful horse! Did you have to paint it up or was it already decorated that way?
ReplyDeleteWe have a collection of Dala horses (Swedish horses), I just love them!
I'd like to see the rest of your collection too.
Love to you,
Eileen
Beautiful! I love it!
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteTo ALL who asked: There was a minor repair to be made. We can't even remember what it was! The paint job was just like you see it! We are blessed to have it.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be in the right place at the right time for finding repurposing items.:) I think it looks great by the stairs. I can invision a wreath around his neck.
ReplyDeleteDEE, You're right! I can envision it, too! But the neck shape is not as long and graceful as some that I've seen and it has been difficult to make a wreath look right....
