I think I have mentioned that I had a small horse collection....Here are many of them. Interspersed among the horses you will see a few elk and reindeer. (There are 5 reindeer here on the bottom picture!)
I'm not sure what the attraction is for me. I just like them.
Really cute.
ReplyDeleteMy Husband had alot of those kinds of wooden horses, but we lost them moving :(
ReplyDeleteI like your horses! And the reindeer too! Do you leave them up all year too, or do they make an appearance just at Christmas time?
ReplyDeleteVery nice collection!
We have a similar rocking horse as the one in the back of your last picture, we bought it for our oldest daughter when she was two.
Enjoy!
Love to you,
Eileen
Eileen, I DO leave them up all year. The larger ones move around from time to time for visiting children to ride, etc. So about how old would that make the "similar rocking horse" be? We've been trying to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteRenee', I'm sorry your husband's wooden horses got lost in the move. (We've lost a few things in moving, also. Have learned they're just "things".)
ReplyDeleteI have a rocking horse I treasure, it was bought for our first granddaughter, Amanda. It sits on the balcony above the livingroom all year, then at Christmas it gives a Christmas Bear a ride! Love all of yours Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteLove your horse collection Rebecca and am glad to know you keep them out year round....Hugs
ReplyDeleteIt's a very nice collection Rebecca...I think the ride on Rocking Horse is so cute....my granddaughter had one when she was smaller similar to it that she loved....I love the song you have playing....Happy Birthday Jesus...it really is all about him.....blessings
ReplyDeleteRebecca...I thought I commented on this post yesterday. Is it me... Do I have brain fade...
ReplyDeleteSigh... :))
I love your horse collection..adorable.
I can just imagine your finding them here and there...and holding them...and not being able to walk out of the shop without them. I think they have found the BEST home.
Love,
Jackie
Rebecca, Katie's rocking horse is twenty-nine, but that's twenty-nine years with us, it was bought second-hand, so it had a life before it joined our family. But it looked almost new when we got it, so I would think about thirty years old is right.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your collection. I have so many collections (collector plates, lambs, tiny tea sets, owls, nesting dolls, the list goes on and on and on) that are either now in the attic or in the basement. I 'recycle' them every once in awhile, but I've been really lazy lately, plus I'm trying hard to get rid of a cluttered look and the only way I seem to be able to do that is to rid my home of any 'extras', so my collections have not made a re-appearance in a long, long time.
My daughters have no interest in any of my 'things' nor do they have any interest in family treasures that have been passed down, that hurts my heart.
I'm hoping my grandchildren will appreciate the 'finer' things in life (well, 'finer' to me anyway!).
Love to you,
Eileen
It's interesting, isn't it, what our children value....Even among my siblings, our preferences differ, too. Like you, deep down I WANT to eliminate some of the clutter of my collections (yet I find myself drawn to magazine pictures of similar "clutter/collections", so it must be in my genes).
