Our granddaughter proudly delivered this home-made card to me at Thanksgiving. While it may have started out being for her father ("Dad"), it ended up being for moi! The sentiments couldn't be sweeter.
"Dear Grandma I like you (Dad) because your skin is fun."
From infancy, she has enjoyed pinching the loose skin on the top of my hand! The fascination continues five years later.
That's sweet Rebecca. I can remember pinching the skin of my g/mother's elbow (with much love for her) while she held me. Grandchildren are so lovable and funny!
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh Rebecca, this is so cute and hysterical to me because I remember doing the same thing to the back of my mothers hand when I was itty bitty! I can do it to myself now, hehehehe! Such a sweet card, those are the best. Love Di
ReplyDeleteNow that you ladies mention it, I think I used to rub MY grandmother's earlobes! I guess I had this coming.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that! That's an interesting fascinaation she has with your skin. And you're right--it's much better than Hallmark!
ReplyDeleteRebecca, thanks so much for visiting my blog. You sound like my kind of gal with a Christmas all the time cabin in your back yard! Have a wonderful holiday season! (I bet those grandkids will play a big role in the fun of your holidays!)
ReplyDeleteOh give me a card like this anytime over a Hallmark......I too use to do this to my grandmother and thought she was very old, my goodness I passed that age she was many, many years ago.......:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteO.K. while we're at it, when I used to nurse Katie, she always had her hand in my arm pit!
ReplyDeleteHow weird is that?
Love Di
Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure I was reading the card right and then I saw what you typed and yep, I read right! That is too funny!
I like you too, and now I know that you have fun skin among your many other attributes!
I LOVE IT!!
Love to you!, Eileen
How cute...give me a card like this over Hallmark any day. It is adorable. My grandaughter has always touched my face and neck. I love the look in her eyes when she does it.:) I also love your pins on the side bar and how fun to wear a diffrent one each day.
ReplyDeleteThat is so precious! If Hallmark had thought of it, I'm sure it would be a best seller!!
ReplyDeleteThose are the things that are kept in a grandma's heart forever..a blessing without price.
Hugs!
This card is priceless! You've got to frame it!
ReplyDeleteMy soon-to-be four year old granddaughter has always noticed a little mole I have on my neck. From the time she could talk, when she's on my lap and notices it, she says "Grandma you have a dot!"
These are the happy things we'll hold in our hearts forever aren't they?
Beyond precious.
