I Can't Resist

Being born on Christmas day and a bit vintage myself, I can't resist participating in Vintage Christmas Monday.  I will be showing a few of my thrifted Christmas treasures and hope they invoke some fond memories and brighten your season as the days grow shorter and nights are longer.

"The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.  You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus."  (Luke 1:10-11)

  2. A Christmas Baby! I didn't know that!
    How special!

I like your vintage decorations very much! I have quite a few vintage decorations from my grandmother, but these past few years I've only used a few of them on our tree as we are back to Disney, Sesame Street, and 'kid' decorations along with religious decorations for the grandkids to enjoy.
That's kind of fun too because our own kids will point out things that they made or bought to put on the tree from their childhood. So instead of my 'vintage' tree it's now a nice mix of old and new, and youngsters and elders.

    Thanks for sharing!
    Love to you,
    Eileen

  3. I love your bowl of vintage treasures Rebecca...holiday birthdays are special. My daughter was born on Valentine's Day, a nephew on Christmas Eve, another on New Year's Day and my mother's birthday was often on Thanksgiving Day and sometimes mine is on Easter!
I just left a comment earlier this morning on your previous post too!
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  10. What a wonderful Christma gift to your parents Rebecca, what a blessing to have a child born on Christmas day....love it although my sister was born Jan. 8th and felt her birthday wasn't celebrated enough because of all the holdidays before it......:-) Hugs

  13. Rebecca, do you have any tips for celebrating a child's birthday that is on such a major holiday? My granddaughter will be 4 this Christmas Eve. So far we've gotten away with celebrating her birthday a little bit earlier in the month, but obviously we won't be able to keep that up. I'm sure you feel it is special now, but did you always like "sharing" your birthday? Just curious...thanks!

I too have a few vintage Christmas things...including a nativity that was my grandmother's. The individual pieces are stamped with their original prices well under $1.00 each!
