I Can't Resist

Being born on Christmas day and a bit vintage myself, I can't resist participating in Vintage Christmas Monday.  I will be showing a few of my thrifted Christmas treasures and hope they invoke some fond memories and brighten your season as the days grow shorter and nights are longer.

"The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.  You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus."  (Luke 1:10-11)

  1. I don't think I knew you were born on Christmas Day. Thanks for sharing your Vintage treasures. I am so blessed, and want to focus on having a thankful heart this season.

  2. A Christmas Baby! I didn't know that!
    How special!

I like your vintage decorations very much! I have quite a few vintage decorations from my grandmother, but these past few years I've only used a few of them on our tree as we are back to Disney, Sesame Street, and 'kid' decorations along with religious decorations for the grandkids to enjoy.
That's kind of fun too because our own kids will point out things that they made or bought to put on the tree from their childhood. So instead of my 'vintage' tree it's now a nice mix of old and new, and youngsters and elders.

    Thanks for sharing!
    Love to you,

  3. I love your bowl of vintage treasures Rebecca...holiday birthdays are special. My daughter was born on Valentine's Day, a nephew on Christmas Eve, another on New Year's Day and my mother's birthday was often on Thanksgiving Day and sometimes mine is on Easter!
I just left a comment earlier this morning on your previous post too!
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  4. Wow! That is some kind of record for holiday birthdays, I think! My grandfather was born on New Year's Day & my mother on Ground Hogs Day :)

  5. How special- your birthday on Christmas Day :)

I am happy to visit your blog. It's beautiful here and I enjoy the music. Praise to Jesus!

Your Christmas pieces are pretty, can't wait until I start to bring out our decorations.

    God bless to you!

  6. Rebecca, I Loooooooooooooove your bowl of vintage treasures .

  7. Well it will be easy to remember your birthday won't it! I love the timing of your post Rebecca, I am just taking a break from going through all of the decorations. I came here and Voila! I have been unwrapping many vintage one's myself, they are some of my favorites.
I loved your gold cherubs the best, they are all so lovely. Love Di

  8. Dearest Rebecca,

How wonderful to be born on Christmas Day! What joy it is to celebrate that day with your Saviour.

I also enjoy Christmas vintage - I have collected quite a bit over the year, they are fun to put around the house and enjoy them during the holiday season.

    Thank you for sharing,

  9. I love vintage Christmas decor...I look forward to seeing more. My birthday is close to yours...two weeks before Christmas.

  10. What a wonderful Christma gift to your parents Rebecca, what a blessing to have a child born on Christmas day....love it although my sister was born Jan. 8th and felt her birthday wasn't celebrated enough because of all the holdidays before it......:-) Hugs

  11. Such sweet treasures. That is precious that you were born on Christmas Day.

  12. Thank you for visiting my blog...yours is so lovely. I love reading every little inspiration!

  13. Rebecca, do you have any tips for celebrating a child's birthday that is on such a major holiday? My granddaughter will be 4 this Christmas Eve. So far we've gotten away with celebrating her birthday a little bit earlier in the month, but obviously we won't be able to keep that up. I'm sure you feel it is special now, but did you always like "sharing" your birthday? Just curious...thanks!

I too have a few vintage Christmas things...including a nativity that was my grandmother's. The individual pieces are stamped with their original prices well under $1.00 each!
