Faith to Sight

Here is the completed Christmas tree - fired and equipped with white lights.  Not all "faith" results in "sight" so soon!  If you were with me over a week ago, you saw this tree BEFORE its firing.  Hard to believe it would look like this!

This transformation reminds me of what I look forward to by faith. I John 3:2-3 says, "Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we WILL be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.  And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure."

Don't you LOVE it?  No eye has seen, ear heard, or mind comprehended what we who have put our trust in Jesus Christ will become when we see Jesus!  And this hope, this faith motivates me toward purity of life, heart and mind.....until faith turns to sight!

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.
(From It Is Well With My Soul)

  2. Thank you, Donna. I'm pleased with the way it turned out (I wasn't sure the last time I saw it - flat, green, etc.)

  3. Hello dear Rebecca, love your beautiful tree. You are so right about the transformation process....to be like Jesus is my greatest desire....I am currently in the firing stage...he is watching me and waiting at the door until I am just right(in his eyes only) to take me out and then I too may shine with his beauty. Made from ashes.....and brokenness to complete the work in me he started.....I spent a while here and read your sidebars etc. I just want you to know I have been very blessed....thank you so much for sharing such uplifting and encouraging words.....blessings...

Were you able to find a Mary for your Nativity Scene?

    Great Bible verse! Great analogy!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and prayers.
    All the best,

  8. Rebecca, we sure do like a lot of the same hymns. It is Well With My Soul is another favorite of mine! Did you ever hear Joni Earickson Tada sing it? Talk about perspective!

Your tree is lovely. What a great analogy!

  10. Jacquelyn, I don't think I've heard J.E.T. sing it....but I know I would be "moved" by it! Especially THIS verse of hope of new body & seeing the Savior!

  11. Bernie, Thank you for your compliment about the tree. It's really good to know that so many of my blogging friends will join me THAT day. First we'll be awed & occupied with Jesus but I think there'll be some time to see each other, too!

  17. So thankful that my limited imagination doesn't hold a candle to what I'm truly going to "realize" one day.

  18. And not only that, Rebecca...but you also have me thinking that it was the fire which made refined your work and made it so beautiful...just as our souls are perfected as we past through firey trials...everything is perfectly planned by the Master!!! Isn't it wonderful??

Your Christmas tree is simply gorgeous, and your words so inspiring...pointing me to that wonderful day!!!! And I am reminded of our joyful anticipation...and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful words today!!! ~Janine XO

  19. Your tree is beautiful Rebecca, but I had faith and knew it would be. I use to help my son-in-law make pottery...his kiln was in our garage...pieces would come out looking nothing like they went in!

  20. Janine, your words encourage ME!

Wanda, your past experience provided foundation for your faith. That's a lesson, too! Our faith in God grows stronger through experiencing God throughout our past.
