We're preparing for a display of nativity sets that belong to families in our church at the end of this month. I wanted to photograph a set for publicity purposes. I purchased this set last year at a thrift store and vaguely remembered that something was missing. As I unpacked it, I realize it's not someTHING. It's someONE. And Mary at that! Six camels (?) but no Mary. This afternoon I'm going to ceramics. My Christmas tree should be fired and ready to glue in the lightbulbs. I'll also ask the proprietor if she has a mold for the Mary to match this set. I sure hope so! I don't want anyTHING or anyONE to be missing.
I try to plan and prepare for the Christmas season so that noTHING is missing. Above all, I don't want anyONE to be overlooked.--particularly Him whose birth we celebrate!
I don't want anyONE to be missing from my Christmas celebrations either! Especially the "...One and Only who is at the Father's side..."

Hope you can find Mary for your beautiful nativity!
That's a very beautiful Nativity set!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get Mary done too!
I have a few Nativity sets. And I have a whole collection of vintage Baby Jesus (in the manger), I usually only put up one of the Nativity scenes, but I display all the Baby Jesus' on a sideboard in my dining room, or I clear the bookshelves and display them there.
Enjoy!
Love, Eileen
WOW..Mary is a big part of the nativity to be missing. Hope you can find one at ceramics.

Good luck with your Mary quest!! If you can't find a Mary to match Joseph maybe you can make a new Mary and Joseph to compliment the nativity.
ReplyDeleteTeresa has molds for the entire set! So she is molding a Mary AND a donkey (which I didn't have.) After I glaze and pearlize Mary and the donkey, I will have a total of 19 pieces! I hope to have the complete set by Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAmen, we cannot let anyone be missing, especially Him.
ReplyDeleteOh My Rebecca, what a gorgeous nativity. I love the pearl look on it! I've been wanting to bring all of my Christmas things out , my favorite being my nativity. My family keeps saying " Not until after Thanksgiving!", well we shall see.
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful!

Rebecca, so glad you are able to make a new Mary and a donkey, hope we get to see a picture as I love nativity sets....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteDiana, I probably wouldn't have brought it out so early except to take the picture for our little local newspaper. (But I'm not sorry it's out!)
