"Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah." (Jeremiah 33:14-16)
What days? Luke 21 spells it out pretty clearly! And Jesus said,
"Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." (Luke 21:28).
"Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." (Luke 21:28).
"Watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap." (Luke 21:34)
The days ARE coming!
How exciting and thrilling! This year I am way ahead of the season and it feels good not to be going crazy by waiting until December to even get started. You have the added thrill of a birthday on His day, how wonderful that is!
ReplyDeleteblessings and hugs,
marcy
Our hearts are filled with gratitude that He came the first time and with anticipation of His second coming!
ReplyDeleteAh the lovely season of Advent is upon us, and just where did the year go? A time for hope and renewal.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the Advent calender was invented by the Lutherans?
It is truly a time of reflection and celebration. I am looking forward to the start of the celebration this morning.

Diana, I DIDN'T know!
ReplyDeleteMarcy, It must be a good feeling to be "ahead of the season"! Good for you! And, I must confess, the thrill of another birthday has faded a bit through the years regardless of WHOSE day it falls on!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteI love the Advent message!
And, just think, each birthday that passes brings us that much closer to St. Luke's message! So no matter what day your birthday falls on REJOICE!
Love to you!, Eileen
Eileen, Of course you are right! I do try to remember "This is the day that the Lord has made; I will REJOICE and be glad in it...." Your reminder puts a good spin on even a 61st birth day!
