He told me that he was rejected because his heart beat was "all over the place." I strongly urged him to go to the local doctor's office. A few minutes later he called to tell me they had done an EKG (? I get these initials mixed up) on him and he would need to stay for a few minutes to wait till the doctor could read the results.
I got in our other car and spent the next hour with him. Atrial Fibrillation is the diagnosis. He was sent home with a prescription and appointment to return in a couple of days to check if the heart beat has returned to normal and to have some blood tests.
"If God wills" has taken on a whole new meaning for us. We rest in His will this evening.
"As for God, his way is perfect,
the word of the Lord is flawless.
the word of the Lord is flawless.
He is a shield for all who take refuge in him." II Samuel 22:31
We will be praying for your hubbys heart to be healed. We never know what each day may bring but we do know the Lord will walk us through it.

Sweetie, your dear husband is being lifted up in my prayers. I love you.
ReplyDeleteMy sister has this condition Rebecca and is doing excellent with her pacemaker...your husband is lucky to have discovered the problem by chance...maybe it's not severe like my sister's and the medication is all needed.
ReplyDeleteRebecca...your husband is blessed to have had his condition diagnosed. That wasn't a happenstance...the potential giving of blood today....all in God's plan...and I know that our Lord will continue to take care of him.
ReplyDeleteYou take care of YOU....I know that you worry about the love of your life...and I want you to take care of you, too.
Love,
Jackie
I will keep your husband in my prayers Rebecca.

It is wonderful that we can rest and have peace in God's control of our lives. Keep us up to date on Gary. We will pray for him. BTW That is a great photo!
ReplyDeleteYou are both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteTo EACH of you who responded so quickly....THANK YOU. Your prayers and concern are a huge blessing to me. I have thanked God several times that he went to give blood yesterday - and that that was the way he became aware of the condition. I know that several of you ARE facing or HAVE faced medical challenges of your own. I have new appreciation of your lives and faith walk!
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I am praying for you, your husband, and your family.
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt too has this condition (she has a pacemaker for years and years now), also my brother-in-law (his condition is a little worse, he has a defibrillator for five years now), they are both doing very well.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
That's encouraging to hear, Eileen. Thanks for your love, prayers & encouraging words.
ReplyDeleteGod..prayers..family..friends. You are not alone.^i^
ReplyDeleteRebecca--It's really amazing how the Lord works; it's good he found this when he did. Will be praying the medication will convert his rhythm to normal. Donna
ReplyDeleteI love your blog..I read it every time you post, I just don't respond very often. I find you an encouragement and you teach me about being a godly woman and wife. Thank you....
ReplyDeleteHey Mom and Dad!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about this- and I'm sorry that I didn't know about it yesterday when I talked to you- funny, someone I talked to this weekend from my church had the exact same thing happen to her- pacemaker was the solution for her as well...we'll see, huh? I'll keep praying for you both! I love you- and I wish I was there with you!- Amber
When I said that the older I get the more I say "if the Lord wills" in my comment yesterday, this is what I was talking about!
ReplyDeleteI am praying for your husband, that the Lord would give his heart perfect rhythm and that the Lord would be glorified!
Rebecca, I tried to comment yesterday as well but there were technical problems. But you and your hubby have been in my thoughts and prayers. I am so thankful he found this out before anything serious happened. Praise the Lord for that! I'm praying that it will get resolved soon...sometimes they are able to get the heart back in sync without any surgery or pacemaker. Keep us posted dear friend. God is near.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful that in giving we receive...your wonderful hubby went to give from his heart and then with your loving encouragement he received (from his sweetheart then his doctor)...help with his heart.
ReplyDeleteWill be keeping you both in prayer.
blessings and prayerful hugs,
marcy
Rebecca, dear sister, I will most definitely remember your husband in prayer. I will also whisper a prayer for you. My husband has been and still is going through some problems with his heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, dear sweet friend.
Love,
Andrea
You both will be in my prayers!!! Your faith shines!! ~Janine XO
