Celebrating my Femininity--Never Too Old

Thanks to all who read and responded positively to my original post under this title. No sooner was it posted, then I had a sting in my heart. The Holy Spirit used another blog to reinforce the sting and speak to me about my motivations. Philippians 4:8-9 encourages Commitment to Loveliness, and I am committed to godly femininity, loveliness and holiness.

I WILL be celebrating my femininity this week, but a little more secretly than I first set out to do. I celebrate the still, small voice of God, the faithfulness of sisters in Christ Jesus, and the clear direction I received on the heels of what could have side-tracked me from my purpose to "know and follow hard after Jesus Christ."

As the description line in the Charming the Birds from the Trees header reminds me: "It is never too late to be what you might have been." (George Eliot)

Lesson learned.

  1. Hi Rebecca!

  2. I believe it's wonderful to be a woman and to celebrate our feminity by enjoying all the beautiful products, books and bubble baths that our life allows. Definitely red polish on your toe nails and I am sure your husband will enjoy your feminity as much as you enjoy being a woman......:-) Hugs

  3. I remember well the realization of "treat yourself special"...my daughter actually made it happen for me...the joy I felt when she did special things for me made me in turn...start doing them for myself...

  4. What a great idea and ven a good way to not only become a better you, but to make the world a better, prettier and more pleasant place. We get too trapped by the status quo and forget to do small or big things to make it special.

    blessings,

  5. I really appreciate your heart and sensitivity to our precious Holy Spirit. What you share definitely blesses my heart.

I wanted to let you know I kept my promise and posted the smoothie recipes (and more than you probably ever wanted to know about smoothie ingredients). Enjoy!

  6. I was traveling . . . I was way behind on reading favorite blogs . . .wish I had read your original post. . . I am curious. Hmmm. I don't know how to be committed to femininity and loveliness. I don't think it was something ever talked about on the farm. Yes, I have heard much about inner beauty. I remember a t-shirt that I once saw--something like, "Don't tell me I'm dependable. Tell me I'm beautiful."
