Sane, Simple, Sacred: DISASTER!

DISASTER!

While doing some research for my husband's sermon on Jonah, Nineveh and the 40 day "heads up" the people of Nineveh were given, I discovered that the Hebrew word translated "evil" or "wickedness" in Jonah 1:2 has a double meaning--wickedness OR disaster.

I couldn't help stopping and acknowledging that sin of EVERY size and shape carries right along with it the seeds of disaster! Whether in an individual, a family, a church or a nation.

Oh, Lord! you ARE gracious and compassionate. Slow to anger and abounding in love. A God who relents from sending calamity. Your grace amazes me!

THE BLOGGER'S PRAYER Lord, help me to learn to spell without spellcheck, manage to visit all that visit me, and post regularly - all in 5 minutes a day, so that I can clean house and take care of my family. Help me to not look at every occurrence in my life as a blog post, and to quit taking pictures of weird things to share as well. Please Lord, help me to stop talking about my blog friends as though they are next door neighbors or someone I have known all of my life. And help me, dear Lord, to think of something witty and wise to post tomorrow.
