I woke up early this morning -- before my friends.
We were spending a couple of days at a friend's lake cottage.
I turned on the coffee pot and quietly left the cottage
for a walk around the lake.
I snapped pictures along the way.
Here are a few of the unique mailboxes I found.
When I returned to our home this afternoon,
my husband said,
"You've got mail!"
Indeed I did--
this wonderful bookmark created by Debbie
enclosed in the lovely note card she must have purchased from Cindy!
Double blessed, I am!
Don't you LOVE to get REAL mail?!?
We enjoyed your photos of real mailboxes.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a treat to find REAL mail in your own.
What neat mailboxes. What creative use of your walk!
ReplyDeleteI took other pictures, too, Bookie. I'll post them on sceneinmygarden.blogspot.com tomorrow. I want to finish a book I had PLANNED to finish at the lake before I go to bed!!!!
DeleteThere is house with the fish mailbox just down the street from me...what good timing to be focused on mail boxes and then find a lovely gift waiting for you from your own mail box.:)
ReplyDeleteI love to get real mail too, and you found some great mailboxes.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, real mail is the best!! Such unique mail boxes Rebecca. It makes me want to fancy mine up!! I loved the big fish, over the top but pretty too.

ReplyDeleteI DO love to get real mail, I am sometimes a bit sad that most people don't send it anymore!:) There is something really exciting about finding a surprise waiting in the mailbox. Those are some wonderful mailboxes as well...makes me think our plain dark green one is a bit boring.;) Hope you are having a wonderful summer Rebecca!:)

What fun to stroll around and see such neat mailboxes! I try to decorate mine a bit with each season but wish I could come up with something really unique for year round joy...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely positively! there is nothing like it. I have always been a writer,
ReplyDeleteI used to have oodles of pen pals when I was a kid, so now I consider blogging
friends to be electronic pen pals. But it is an even bigger thrill than it used to be to get real mail in your box, that isn't bills or flyers, of course,
cause now it is so rare.................
All those mailboxes were so cute..........
thanks for taking those pics so we could enjoy them too.
Blessings hon, Nellie
I do love to get real mail. That means I should SEND more real mail.
