My father, age 84, volunteered to help us put the trim around the finished floor yesterday. It is a joy to watch him and my husband work together as they have throughout my married life. I am SO blessed!
Today I'm listening to ♪Christmas music♪ while I peck away at getting furniture moved back in, buffet and other furniture refilled, etc. I enjoy the various corners and the view by lamplight. We are very pleased with the floor. The mess was well worth it.
My husband painted the mirror above our mantel white last night. I told him it could be my birthday present, and he complied! Stockings are stuffed; cookies baked. Tonight is our candlelight Christmas Eve service at church. I have several packages to wrap and some baked French toast to prepare before tomorrow's small (9 of us) Christmas gathering. The BIG one is coming up next week.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL of YOU
God bless us, Everyone!
It looks wonderful Rebecca, wishing you a Merry Christmas with your family. God Bless...xo
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I commented...but I don't think I waited long enough for the word verification, and it didn't appear....so, if this is a duplication, I do apologize.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely everything is...and even lovlier to see your family working and being together.
Merry Christmas to you, my friend!!
Love,
Jackie
And...I notice that misspelled "loveliness" in my comment to you...but the comment was gone before I could 'grab it back.' :))

ReplyDeleteYour floor is beautiful and I would agree it was well worth the extra work. It looks warm and I love the rug on it under the table.
ReplyDeleteI miss my father-in-law. He pastored for over 50 years and was a great man of prayer.
I love your blessing by Wilda English. It lives within you and shines through all your words. You have been a blessing for me to count at the end of this year.
Nice choice of flooring...I really like it.
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up on blogs. The floor looks great! Can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeletewow! I LOVE the new floor AND the freshly painted mirror. It definitely pops now that it is white. Is that roll top desk a newer one or an antique? We have a newer one that looks very similar, with an old chair in front of it too. I'll send you a pic. Good minds think alike! What is the name of the color of your floor? It is wood or pergo? Just gathering info in case I ever get so fortunate as to get mine replaced!!!
ReplyDeleteThe floors look great. I want those in our den!!!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out wonderfully! The mirror looks like it was meant to be with the fireplace...very elegant! What an amazing dad and husband you have!
ReplyDeleteThnak you for your visit to my blog and your kind comment. I see you are a multitalented person with several blogs that attest to your many qualities. I'm very interested in a couple and will enjoy getting to know you in the new year!!
