Ode to Late Bloomers

Iris in October
Vigorous and fully formed
she wears her white
with confidence
amidst
wilted stems and faded blooms.
Few know or remember
where she came from,
but all who see her
notice her unexpected beauty
calling forth
admiration
and sparking
hope.

  1. It's been a while since I've come to visit. So I'm putting your blog link in my sidebar so you'll always be right there and I won't take so long next time.

I sure enjoyed my stroll through your last few posts, Rebecca. Your iris is a delight to the eyes. Love her frilly petals in white. And those lovely old cars... they really are beauties.

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead...
