Sunday before Dawn

Cool autumn darkness
wraps the house in its Sunday silence.
Freshly brewed coffee wafts an invitation
to pleasure.
Meanwhile, he who measured it
and started it perking
works with quiet skill
applying the second coat of paint
to the ancient cabinet’s carefully prepared surface.
Soon it will stand proudly
in the dining area,
a monument to the one who tirelessly
goes about his various occupations
with strength, patience and faithfulness
often unnoticed.

    1. Why, thank YOU, Sue!
I'm getting eager to move the "finished project" into our kitchen/dining area. Maybe today?!
