A fifty-cent purchase a week or so ago
turned into a Life Lesson for me.
"Never!" I had said emphatically in the past.
Several times upon seeing framed jigsaw puzzles!
"NEVER would I ever preserve and frame a jigsaw puzzle."
"NEVER would I ever preserve and frame a jigsaw puzzle."
However...
when THIS one was completed,
I ate my words.
My husband re-sized a frame.
My dad undertook the tedious process of painting the frame.
(It required a few coats to reach into the crevices.)
Mod-podged, it now stands here.
I shall have to find the proper hanging place.
But meanwhile, I'm reminded of a Bible character who once said "Never".
I'm revisiting that word and will think soberly of it every time I look at this piece.
"No!" Peter insisted. "Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!"
And all the other disciples vowed the same
(Matthew 26:35)
I've saved a few puzzles myself. ..and have probably thought. ..never. ..
ReplyDeleteThat's why I like you so much, MoBunny!
DeleteIt looks really great and was a family project!
ReplyDeleteYes, M'am!
DeleteThat is a really beautiful puzzle. Who knew they could be so elaborate? I think the frame makes it look even more posh!
ReplyDeleteThis was purchased (by someone) at an art museum, I believe. It really IS a "masterpiece". :)
DeleteHi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think when we say Never the Lord takes it as a challenge!! lol
I have had the same experience with Never...........
I actually have a Thomas Kincaide puzzle we framed....it was because all the
kids in our college/career bible study had a hand in it and it was a sweet
reminder of them.......
Not too long ago one of those kids and her hubby were in our marriage class
and she said she always loved coming to our home and remembered putting puzzles
together on my dining room table after study was over.........doesn't get more precious than that. We have very special memories of all those kids and many
still keep in touch every once in awhile....which is such a blessing.
One day this puzzle will be a sweet reminder of your DAD and you will be very happy you framed it...........
Very pretty puzzle and frame........it needs a place of honor......
Blessings, Nellie
It makes me smile to know you have framed a jigsaw puzzle too (as well as hearing about the fellowship around the dining table after your study).
DeleteI'm kind of short on wall space right now but fully intend to keep this one in a place of honor!
Beautiful family project.
