I've Come Late

Aware, I have been...
but I guess I've come late to the Susan Branch party...
There it was last week on the library shelf containing new (?) books.
I grabbed it and was immediately surprised by its weight!  Literal weight!
I'm reading it in minutes between other things
and occasional carved-out-and-deliberately-extended times.
...didn't know that about Laura Ingalls Wilder...
My own journal is filling up with quotes I can't resist transcribing...
I'm reluctant to finish it but assured that - since it is one of a trilogy -
there are at least two others to pick up when I do...
Yes, I've come late.
But not TOO late.

  1. I've read "A Fine Romance" but not "Fairy Tale Girl" or this one! I must read them as I loved "A Fine Romance."

    Love the quotes, too!

  2. Oh! I am so glad you found this! I read the third one first and my exercise group all wanted my copy. One woman did not want to give it back it was so wonderful. When she did, I reread the book and gave it back to her as a gift. I am not sorry but sort of wish I had the copy again. I did not know there would be more. Now I have read the first of the trilogy...great relaxing stuff...I just melted into her world and her talent. You know she is also a special friend to G Taber?

    1. :) In this book, I read that she discovered Gladys Taber's book in the basement of the cottage on Isle of Dreams. I didn't know there was personal contact, but not surprised. I definitely want to go back and read the first one - then A Fine Romance. Funny, I think I handled the Romance one in the library but didn't realize there was a "story" in it and put it back on the shelf!
